40 Inspiration 2. Personal necessity - Need a product to do a task, but cannot find the product for sale, or for sale at a reasonable price.

41 Which ideas to develop? Is your idea novel/original? If not, can it be made novel? Do you have the knowledge and abilities to develop the idea alone or do you need to form a team to develop the idea? Can you find the raw materials in Brunei for building the prototype? Are the raw materials affordable? Is there a market for the product, in Brunei or internationally? Will the final product have a reasonable sale price? Do you need to export the manufacturing of the product overseas?

42 Advice (collected from past CIPTA competitions) Keep the idea simple Make sure it is an original idea. Brainstorm on variations to idea so as to determine the best one. Do lots of testing. Modify and improve the idea. Produce a prototype as it is very helpful in presenting the idea. Produce a good report and presentation.
