(EDITOR'S NOTE) What a terrific year we ve had at Simply Bee! Team Simply Bee has really pulled together and worked hard to bring you only the best in all natural, environmentally friendly, honey, beeswax and propolis products! With our brand constantly growing, we now proudly announce that we currently supply over 190 stockists country wide. Our products are also exported to UK, USA, Singapore, Nambia, Mauritius and Botswana. Here are some of our accomplishments in 2015: We launched 2 new products this year: The Simply Bee body butter and our all natural unisex roll on deodorant. Our online shop has grown exponentially, and we now deliver door to door anywhere in South Africa with reliable couriers. The new Simply Bee Observation centre had a bumper year, with various school groups and

2 families coming for a visit to learn all about bees and to do some honey tasting! Simply Bee attended numerous big expos and markets giving us the opportunity to meet new friends and potential stockists. We launched the first in a series of by monthly beekeeping workshops, wherein we aim to invite beekeepers (start up and established) to create a forum to discuss challenges, disease prevention and management with guest speakers. We were invited to participate in various investigative coverage by TV programmes covering the devastating trail of AFB (American Foul brood) in South African bee colonies. Here are some of the challenges which presented themselves in 2015: The impact of the AFB (American Foul Brood) pandemic, has left the bee industry in our country reeling, with more than 40 % loss in bee colonies in the Western Cape alone! The continued drought has affected us, as it has every other beekeeper and farmer in our region, and for the first time in many years, we have had an extremely small and late honey harvest. Apart from the challenges, we remain optimistic and enthusiastic and we are positive that 2016 will bring only exciting new ventures, many more new customers and friends and bee colonies will thrive.
