1 2018 SQF INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE Presentatin Prpsal Guidelines We are accepting yur presentatin ideas t share insights, best practices, emerging trends, grundbreaking research and critical industry updates in the area f fd safety and fd quality certificatin and retail fd safety at the 2018 SQF Internatinal Cnference, taking place in Atlanta, Gergia, Octber 23-25, Presentatin prpsals must be submitted nline thrugh Mnday, March , 11:59 pm EST using the nline Call fr Prpsals Prtal. PLEASE NOTE: We expect a high respnse, s the submissin prtal will clse nce we have received 100 submissins r n March 15, whichever cmes first. N nline submissins will be accepted after this date. Abut the SQF Prgram The Safe Quality Fd (SQF) prgram is recgnized by retailers and fdservice prviders arund the wrld as a rigrus and credible fd safety management system. It is the nly certificatin system recgnized by the Glbal Fd Safety Initiative (GFSI) that ffers certificates fr primary prductin, fd manufacturing, distributin and agent/brker management. This enables suppliers t assure their custmers that fd has been prduced, prcessed, prepared and handled accrding t the highest pssible standards, at all levels f the supply chain. Additinally as a divisin f the Fd Marketing Institute (FMI), the SQF prgram incrprates cntinual retailer feedback abut cnsumer cncerns. Abut The SQF Internatinal Cnference A unique educatin and netwrking event prviding SQF stakehlders and fd safety prfessinals with practical knwledge and skills t imprve the efficacy f their fd safety and quality assurance prgrams and ensure cmpliance with gvernment fd safety regulatins, crprate plicies, and the SQF Cde. Target Audience: SQF Stakehlders and fd safety prfessinals such as: SQF Practitiners PCQIs (Preventative Cntrls Qualified Individuals) Crprate fd safety executives Retail fd safety prfessinals at the stre and crprate level SQF Cnsultants, Trainers, Certificatin Bdy Staff and Auditrs Fd Safety Equipment and Service Prviders

2 Success Factrs Factrs that will imprve the chance f yur prpsal being selected include: Yu submit yur prpsal nline befre the March 19 deadline Yur prpsal has a unique angle n the tpic f interest Yu have a unique r interesting way f delivering the cntent The sessin descriptin clearly states the learning bjectives and expected takeaways The cntent ffers an applied nt academic apprach, prviding practical advice and takeaways (case studies are highly encuraged) Yu have nt presented at the SQF Cnference in the last tw years Presentatin Styles: Adults learn best in settings where they are able t participate actively, relate the new infrmatin r techniques t their ther experiences, and practice new skills. Prspective presenters are encuraged t suggest sessin styles that incrprate these cmpnents and preference will be given t thse prpsals that include plans fr active participant engagement and practical applicatin f the cncepts cvered. Sme examples f ptential styles include: Case Study (presenter discusses a real-life prblem and invites audience participatin) Twn Hall (10-15 minute presentatin fllwed by grup discussin and reprt uts) Panel Discussin (mderated discussin by panel members with audience questins) Grup Exercise (participants are divided int small grups and given a specific task t cmplete) Idea Exchange (mderatr leads a discussin amng participants) Educatin sessins may be delivered by ne presenter, c-presenters r a panel. While FMI welcmes presentatin prpsals frm the manufacturer and service prvider cmmunities, preference will be given t thse that prvide a balanced view frm bth and buyer and seller perspectives. Please nte that any speakers listed/prpsed shuld already have agreed t speak in the sessin. SQFI Nn-Cmmercial Plicy Attendees at SQFI s cnferences are seeking quality educatin sessins free frm cmmercial influence r bias and are critical f presenters r sessins that seek t advertise, prmte r market prducts r cmpanies. SQFI therefre mandates that presenters may nt use a cnference sessin fr cmmercial sales pitches r self-prmtin. Speakers are nt permitted t distribute prmtinal literature, brchures r sales materials in any frm t attendees during their sessin. Presentatins must be free frm inapprpriate use f brands, trademarks r lgs. Prpsals that d nt adhere t this plicy will nt be cnsidered. 4 Speaker Cntent Develpment Requirements In rder t ensure the highest level f quality f the cnference educatin prgram, all speakers must adhere t mandatry design and cntent develpment requirements. Presentatins that d nt meet these design requirements r are delivered past the deadline, will be rejected. A list f speaker requirements can be fund here. The majrity f speakers d nt receive additinal remuneratin r expense reimbursement beynd these benefits; hwever speakers may register at a reduced rate ($850). Prpsal Review, Selectin and Ntificatin Prcess: Prpsals must be submitted by Mnday, March 19, 11:59 pm EST using the nline Abstract Management System. 5 SQFI reserves the right t request/make mdificatins f cntent prir t acceptance Since the actual day and time f the sessin cannt be prvided in advance, please ensure that the presenter(s) are available fr the duratin f the event dates (Octber 23-25). SQFI technical staff and cmmittee vlunteers will review all prpsals and accepted presenters will be ntified n later than June 1, Presenters will be ntified nly if they are accepted t speak.
