Range of products Unique breadth and depth of product range Electronic pressure measurement Mechatronic pressure measurement Mechanical pressure measurement Diaphragm seals Electrical temperature measurement Mechatronic temperature measurement Mechanical temperature measurement Thermowells Level measurement Flow measurement Calibration technology Accessories 5

Products Product portfolio Diaphragm seal Flange connection Threaded connection Sterile connection Diaphragm seal systems For relative pressure, absolute pressure and differential pressure Diaphragm seals (neutral components) for transmitter manufacturers ABB Azbil Emerson Endress + Hauser Fuji Honeywell Invensys-Foxboro Siemens Smar Vega Yokogawa Accessories 6

Innovation from tradition Milestones 1972 Start of the production of diaphragm seals 1989 New development of in-line diaphragm seals 1993 Introduction of the metal-to-metal bonding process 2006 Acquisition of Benney (Echuca, Victoria, Australia) 2008 Acquisition of RJ Global (Houston, Texas, USA) 2012 Supplier for project "JERP (Jubail Export Refinery Project) in Saudi Arabia, approx. 8,500 diaphragm seal systems 73

Competence Target markets Chemical and petrochemical industry Oil and gas Food and pharmaceutical industry Power engineering Pulp and paper industry Water, waste water 85

Competence Core expertise Welded joints Handling of special materials and coatings for wetted parts Examination and analysis of the physical characteristics of system fill fluids 94

Operating principle: diaphragm seal A diaphragm seal has two primary tasks: 1. Separate the pressure measuring instrument from the process medium 2. Transfer the pressure to the pressure measuring instrument 10

System fill fluids General applications: silicon oil Low temperatures Standard temperatures High temperatures Inert fill fluid (Halocarbon) Oxygen applications Chlorine applications Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical FDA (US Food & Drug Administration) USP, EP (United States Pharmacopeia, European Pharmacopeia) Halal, Kosher 11

Wetted parts materials Stainless steel Tantalum Hastelloy Monel Titanium Coatings: ECTFE (Halar ) Gold plating Wikaramic Duplex Zirconium PFA Nickel Inconel Incoloy 12

Gold for diaphragms Diaphragm with Gold-lining against diffusion of molecular hydrogen, e.g. during hydrogenating activities layer thickness approx µm Gold-lining is based on metallic bonded diaphragms 13

Wetted parts material - wikaramic ceramic coating - Reliable; increases product lifetime Provides protection against abrasive materials for example sand, silicium Application example: pulp and paper industry Diaphragm with wikaramic coating Material: CR2O3/TIO2 (60/40) Thickness: 40 μm Surface quality: RA < 0,8 μm 14

Wetted parts material - PFA FDA coating - Perfluoroalkoxy Provides resistance against corrosive and adhesive media For process temperatures up to 260 C Approved under FDA - 21 CFR and 21 CFR (Indirect Food Additive) 15

Special solution: Diaphragm break monitoring Minimizes risk of contamination Reduces waiting and shut-down times Safety barrier via doublediaphragm design (Patent No. DE ) 16

For critical processes System fill fluid could enter product Product could enter environment 17

Function Pressure measuring instrument: Process transmitter Pressure gauge Pressure switch Diaphragm break monitor: Pressure switch Mechanical gauge Switch-gauge Inner diaphragm Diaphragm seal Outer diaphragm 18
