4 1. Technology megla dynamic glass is a laminated glass consisting of two glass panels, between whom a liquid crystal (LC) film is embedded in two sub layers. OFF If the glass is disconnected from power supply (megla dynamic powerbox is provided), the liquid crystals are disordered. The glass is opaque. ON If power supplied, the liquid crystals are ordered. The glass is transparent. megla dynamic glass is a laminated glass consisting of at least two panels of white glass. The liquid crystal film (approx. 1/64 ) is laminated between two films(pvb/eva) each approx. 1/32. Please note: The megla dynamic glass is a laminated glass and not a laminated safety glass. Examples of application Office-Cube, banks, museum, showcases, shop windows, changing rooms, refrigerators, windows, conference rooms, etc. megla dynamic glass is perfectly suitable for projection screen if the power is switched off. 4. Glazing information The valid and known glazing guidelines should be strictly met. megla dynamic glass may be explicitly sealed with GE Bayer Multisil. Complete seals may not be applied to insulating glass. (OR: Application of complete seals to insulating glass is not permitted.) 5. General information Please consider that the transparency of a switchable glass is not comparable to that of a clear glass. We are willing to provide a temporary free sample on request for personal inspection. Usually the switchable glass has a slight haze. This is a product attribute and does not refer to a deficiency. The haze may be perceived differently dependent on the angle of view as well as the light incidence and background lighting. It can have a diverse impact on the total surface. Due to the production, the megla dynamic glass is fabricated with a LC-backcut of approx. 1/8 (clear edge). The glass receive a visible silk-screened band to cover the wire hardware (approx. 5/8-1-3/16 wide). Standard color is white, similar to RAL 9010! Laminating and glass supply are exclusively delivered by KL-megla Made in Germany in cooperation with our partners. 6. Tempered glass spontaneous breakage The tempered glass panels may seldom suffer a breakage through nickel sulfide inclusion due to material or fabrication. We therefore recommend the usage of single panel tempered glass. The additional heat-soaking process significantly reduces the residual risk( see DIN EN para.3.2) of such breakage. This heat-soak test is only conduced upon the special and remunerated request of the customer. However, a complete protection from the nickel sulfide breakage cannot be achieved. Generally, glass breakage is not a reason for complaint under our warranty. According to the German Construction Contract Procedures (VOB) PartB, Page 12, para.6, the person who had the glass in custody at the time of glass breakage always bears the breakage risk- also breakage through nickel sulfide. That is why a new delivery takes exclusively place upon payment! Products from one panel security glass may, for whatever reasons, break spontaneously into single or loose fragments. Version / 8

6 7. Electrical Installation According to the VDE Specifica tions Code of Safety Standards, the installation needs to be carried out by an expert. In order to ensure the switching function, the glass needs to be off power,regulated by an automatic timer, for a sum of 4 hours per day. This device is part of the warranty and is optionally available on request. 8. 8 9. Wiring options A varied number of formation are feasible on request. Due to warranty claims, the connection strips should always be put on top. 10. Suitable glass shapes Version / 8

9 11. Tolerances and warranty Two years warranty is issued on glass, electrical components, fittings as well as the function of the liquid crystal films. The mounting as per the manual and the mounting guide are precondition. Moreover, the valid version of the General Terms and Conditions of KL-megla GmbH does apply. Obvious deficiencies are to be immediately complaint at the supplier ( Visual and functional control). Complaints at a later date cannot be accepted. The laminated glass may have an offset edge of 1/8 due to production. The bending may be up to +/- 1/8 per running meter. 12. Delivery Our General Terms and Conditions shall apply to our delivery. Transportation insurance is not included, but can be taken out on request. The expenses for the transportation insurance are 3% of the invoice value of goods. 13. Storage information An inadequate storage leads to loss of warranty claim. Adequate storage means: >>storage in dry and protected upright position. 14.
