Translas UK is an official distributor of welding equipment from Translas, fume extraction equipment from RoboVent the specialist in clean air, as well as other welding systems. Translas distributes all fume extraction installations under the name Clear02. The Clear02 program includes carefully selected high quality air filtration and fume extraction units. The starting point for each product in the range is comfort for the operater, great functionality and ease of use. No fume, only clean air. Welding fumes are hazardous to health. Reducing the health hazard caused by exposure to welding fumes has been an important topic for many years. In Europe over 730,000 welders, plus their colleagues working in the same area, are exposed daily to harmful welding fumes. In the long term and in severe exposure, released vapours and gases may lead to serious health problems when welding. Translas took the challenge to minimize this number and developed the 7XE Extractor - a torch that extracts the welding smoke directly at the source, and selected the best filtration systems to offer only one thing Only Clean Air. 4 7XE EXTRACTOR TORCHES SAFE EXTRACTION OF WELDING FUMES AT THE SOURCE 7XE EXTRACTOR TORCH THE 7XE EXTRACTOR TORCH Welding fumes are a health hazard and welders who inhale too much fumes run a higher risk of developing asthma, bronchitis, COPD, and cardiovascular disorders. The Dutch and other governments have, as a result, instituted stringent threshold for the amount of welding fumes in the workplace. The legal threshold in the Netherlands for welding fumes in the workplace is 1 milligram of welding fumes per cubic meter of air (1 mg/m³), over the span of an 8-hour work day. Germany - 1,25 mg/m³, United Kingdom - 5 mg/m³. TWO TYPES OF TORCHES We have 2 types of torches: water cooled 500 Amp and gas cooled 300 Amp. Both of them are 100% Duty Cycle. The 7XE Extractor reduces the welder s exposure to welding fumes by 90-95%, as measured by the Netherlands Organisation for applied scientific research TNO in a Worst Case Room. VARIOUS SWITCH MODULES There are various modules available such as single, double and triple buttons as well as a digital version. In combination with a fully programmable digital PCB (printing circuit board) from your machine supplier, we are able to operate your torches remotely. INTEGRATED FUME EXTRACTION The 7XE Extractor consists of a welding torch with a built-in extraction module. The torch can be connected to a central extraction system or to a stand-alone version without any problems. The advantage of this mobile extraction unit with integrated filtration systems is that it can be used in different workplaces, such as in ships holds. There are various modules available such as single, double and triple buttons as well as a digital version. In combination with a fully programmable digital PCB (printing circuit board) from your machine supplier, we are able to operate your torches remotely. 5 A nice small handle has been developed to create maximum welding comfort. APPLICATION The 7XE Extractor is intended for use in MIG and MAG welding processes that employ shielding gases. The torch will in all cases extraction at source. The Extractor is a very light torch. Due to the small size of the handle, the welder does not feel any difference between the 7XE Extractor and a conventional torch. 6 7XE EXTRACTORS RANGE 7XE EXTRACTOR 7XE Extractor is the standard execution of our fume extraction line. It is relatively light only 1,3 kg while high in power and 100% duty cycle for heavy duty work. 7XE EXTRACTOR TORCH 7XE EXTRACTOR FLEX The Flex line of Extractors is characterised by more flexible suction hose and is suitable for extra heavy-duty work. The flexible hose and the relatively light weight for a high-amperage torch 1,5 kg contribute to the comfort of the welder during such heavy duty work. The hose has an extra layer of leather protection which can be partially or completely covering the hose, according to your needs. Both torches are available in two versions: gas-cooled and water-cooled. VARIOUS NOZZLES Both 7XE Extractor and 7XE Extractor Flex are available with the four nozzles 10mm, 12mm Standard, 14mm and 14mm Special. The nozzles can be switched in seconds. Thus, the range of application is broadened to almost any single need a welder might have. Suitable for most common applications. Provides focused shielding gas flow and immediate removal of fume on typical butt-, t-fillet and lap-joints. For heavier-thickness, high-current and high-deposition butt- and lap-joint applications, this nozzle offers greater shielding gas coverage to help prevent porosity. Where space is limited and fit is tight, this nozzle offers better access and greater shielding gas coverage to reduce porosity. The standard fume nozzle supplied with each 7XE Extractor and 7XE ExtractorFlex. 7 We have 2 types of torches from both lines 7XE Extractor & 7XE ExtractorFlex: water cooled 500 Amp and gas cooled 300 Amp. Both of them are 100% Duty Cycle. 7XE MINI EXTRACTOR 7XE MINI Extractor is the lightest fume extraction torch on the market at this moment. It weighs only 1.1 kg and has a small in size handle and nozzle as well as small conical hose (from 30 mm to 38 mm). The 7XE MINI Extractor was developed especially for welding jobs where constant changing in positions is required, such as in manual automotive welding. The constant change in angles and positions results in unwanted tension in the wrist and possible chronical pain. With this light torch this problem is minimized. The legal threshold in the United Kingdom for welding fumes in the workplace is 5 milligram of welding fumes per cubic metre of air (5 mg/m³), over the span of an 8-hour work day.
