Hier Ihr Logo Scona TP Modifiers Nordmann, Nordmann, Rassmann Rassmann GmbH, GmbH, Hamburg Hamburg as asdistribution Partner Partner presents presents

Scona TP Polymer Modifiers of Kometra AG, Schkopau Germany

History: Basic development was already made at BUNA in the former GDR. For strategic reasons however DOW lateron discontinued production. All rights, patents, know-how and many specialists however have been taken over by Kometra AG

The Plant in the Centre of Germany inside Value Park in Schkopau near Halle/Saale

Inauguration on November 23rd 2001 Mrs. Katrin Budde, Minister of Trade and Commerce of Saxony-Anhalt

Products: Plastic modifiers based on powdered, semi cryst. polymers ( e.g. PP or EVA ) grafted with reactive groups ( e.g. Maleic Anhydr. or Acrylic Acid-Comonomer )

The Production Plant

Manufacturing: Grafting with reactive monomeres in the solid phase, below the polymer melting point onto free-flowing polymeres. Consequences : - low impurities of free monomers - very flexible in the degree of grafting - low polymer degradation - excellent reproducibility

The plant consits of several reactors in different sizes for: Developments and trials Small production of specialities Industrial bulk production

Applications: Coupling agents / primers for fillers and reinforcements Compatibilizers Impact modifiers Viscosity modifiers

Product information for: Modifiers based on Acrylic Acid Comonomer on following pages

SCONA TP - Modifiers The brand name SCONA stands for a whole family of chemically modified (functional) polymers which are manufactured by way of grafting reactive monomers onto free-flowing substrate polymers, this being a patented production technique.
