2 Bus 202 TC bus fo tough applications Geneal infomation The and -S cuts have been specially designed fo tough opeating conditions in dockyads, foundies and steel constuctions. They ae also ideal fo use in all manufactuing sectos whee, due to the difficult poduction envionment, tooth beakages o othe damage to conventional bus is a fequent occuence. Application examples: High-impact applications, due to use of shank extensions Heavy-duty applications, due to angled woking Applications with a lage suface contact between wokpiece and bu Milling of naow contous Applications whee high otational speeds ae not available Advantages: Innovative, special cuts poviding exceptional impact esistance Minimizing of tooth chipping/beakage, splinteing and bu failues due to vey obust, high-pefomance cuts Also useable in the low otational speed ange Note: Due to thei exteme impact esistance, they can pefectly be used as long shank vaiants. Available as poducts made to ode with any shank length. Please contact us. The and -S cuts can be used on mateials up to 55 HRC. Fo hade mateials, it is ecommended to pefom tials befoehand. Cut Tungsten cabide bus with cut ae paticulaly aggessive and ae chaacteized by high stock emoval. Cut -S Tungsten cabide bus with -S cut ae chaacteized by smooth milling and high stock emoval. 3 TC bus fo tough applications Geneal infomation Minimized tooth beakage Chipping, tooth failues and majo bu damage ae often encounteed in applications involving high impact loads. The and -S cuts have been especially developed to esist high impact loads. The longe tool life as well as the high stock emoval of these tools esult in geate costeffectiveness compaed to conventional bus. Tooth chipping / failue on conventional bus TC bus with long shanks TC bus with and -S cuts can pefectly be used as long shank vaiants. Fo safety easons, tungsten cabide bus with longe shanks must be opeated at substantially lowe otational speeds. Fo moe infomation on TC bus with long shanks and on otational speeds, please efe to page 7. Use only igid clamping systems and tool dives to avoid safety hazads! 7 TC bus fo tough applications Long shank vaiants Long shank vaiants available on equest Tungsten cabide bus with special shank lengths Tungsten cabide bus fo tough applications ae optionally available in 150 an00 mm shank lengths. They ae paticulaly well suited fo use in had-to-each aeas. Because of thei high impact esistance, they epesent an optimum combination of a tungsten cabide bu and a long shank o shank extension, espectively. Shanks may also be cut to length by the use. Safety notes: When woking with long shank bus, the bu must be in contact with the wokpiece (o inseted in the boe o slot to be machined) befoe the machine is tuned on. As a ule, the tool must emain in contact with the wokpiece fo as long as the machine is unning. Failue to obseve this pocedue may esult in shank failue and hence an inceased accident isk. If the continuous contact between the tool and the wokpiece is not guaanteed, the ➌ maximum idling speeds stated in the table should not be exceeded. ➊ ➌ Maximum idling speed [RPM] without contact to the wokpiece ➋ Maximum application speed [RPM] with contact to the wokpiece Shank length ,000-15, ,000-11, ,000-7, ,000-5,000 Fo safety easons, the ➋ maximum application speeds with contact to the wokpiece equie a eduction in the ecommended standad shank bu speed. The educed speeds ae stated in the table. To detemine the ecommended otational speed ange, please poceed as follows: ➊ Select the equied bu diamete ➋ Fo the maximum application speed [RPM] with wokpiece contact, please efe to the ight-hand side of the table 7

8 Tool dives 209 TC bus fo tough applications Dive spindle extensions Bus (shank dia. 3, 6 and mm) can be extended with spindle extensions. They allow access to had-to-each aeas. The spindle extension is mounted in the collet chuck of the tool dive (ai-poweed o electic), o in the handpiece of the flexible shaft. In some applications, spindle extensions ae an efficient altenative to customized bus with long shanks. Safety notes: Fo safety easons, it is not possible to use spindle extensions in combination with long shank bus.
