1 2C Adhesives and Sealants Page 1 / 6 Multi Power is a 2-component, transparent methyl methacrylate adhesive. The product has a mixing ration of 1:1. Due to its unique composition, Multi Power is perfectly suited to fulfil high demands during assembly and construction as well as during smaller industrial applications. Multi Power bonds composite materials, thermoplastics1, duroplastics and metals2. The adhesive develops a high-strength and inflexible connection between most diverse materials. We recommend Multi Power Primer for a pre-treatment of the designated surfaces (especially in case of stainless steel, brass, copper, aluminium) in order to achieve an even more satisfying result. On request, the Multi Power series is available in litre trading units (barrel) for application with dispensing systems. Moreover, individual processing times (Wet life) are available on request. Trading units Item no.: 50 ml cartridge MPT.K50 Performance Characteristics Fast curing at room temperature Available at open time of 1 and 3 minutes High shore hardness Consistent processing characteristics Excellent resistance to media Thixotropic characteristics Limited treatment or priming necessary for most metals Easy application also on uneven surfaces Permanent adhesive connections also in difficult application environments Excellent resistance to impacts and material fatigue Finishing of the adhesion by methods like like grinding, drilling and recoating is possible without any difficulties Suited Materials ABS, acryl, aluminium, CRS,stainless steel, epoxy, fibre glass, FRP, FRT, wood, nylon, surface resin, PBT, polycarbonate, polyester, polyurethane, PPO, PVC, RIM, styrene, galvanised steel, and many more. Perfect for vehicle components, sports goods, electrical components and casings, household appliances, furniture, products made of plastic, products made of metal, signs und displays, etc. Generally, the adhesions are resistant to heat, water, moisture, hydrous chemicals and most oleaginous hydrocarbonate like petrol, diesel and engine oil. Not suited for the permanent application in highly concentrated acids, bases or aggressive organic solutions like toluene, ketone and ester. The suitability of the adhesive has to be verified at all times before the application is conducted. 1. Most thermoplastics can be bonded without surface treatment (Clean with a dry fabric or compressed air). In case of visible or supposed impurities, clean the surface with WIKO Plastic Cleaner (AKSR.D500; AKSR.D1000). Generally, polyolefin, thermoplastic polyester, fluoric carbonate and other low-energetic plastics cannot be bonded. A verification of the effectiveness of the adhesive is required for most thermoplastic due to different material composition und adhesive properties (See important notes a, b and c). 2. In case of metal bonding, make sure to remove dirt, particles, rust and other residues like oil or grease with WIKO Metal Cleaner (AMTR.D500, AMTR.D1000). For maximum adhesive strength on steel, grind the surface prior to the adhesion (See important notes a,b,c). GLUETEC Industrieklebstoffe GmbH & CO.KG Am Biotop 8a D Greußenheim

4 Page 4 / 6 Safety and Handling Please pay attention to the advices of the safety data sheets before you apply the product. The adhesive components A and B contain methyl methacrylate monomer and are both easily flammable. Use the product only in well ventilated areas. The chemical curing that is activated by mixing the components A and B develops heat. The degree of heat is dependent on the mass and the strength of the mixed product. Large quantities can develop high temperatures and create vapours that are harmful to health and flammable. Large curing masses should be stored in a well ventilated area. Contact during the time period of the curing process should be minimized. Keep the container closed if it is not used. Avoid contact with the skin or the eyes. In case of contact with the skin, clean the sport with water and soap. In case of contact with the eyes, wash them for 15 minutes with water and consult a doctor immediately. Keep product out of the reach of children. Surface Pre-treatment The surfaces to be adhered have to be free of dust, oil, grease or other impurities. On each surface even it looks clean are residues of the aforementioned kind. Generally, use a suited WIKO Cleaner [(depending on the material type WIKO Metal Cleaner (AMTR.D500; AMTR.D1000) or WIKO Plastic Cleaner (AKSR.D500; AKSR.D1000)] to ensure an optimal application. 5 Page 5 / 6 Instructions Follow the specified instructions or contact GLUETEC before the beginning of the bonding process. Dispense a small amount of the adhesive onto a test piece to ensure that the adhesive emerging from the mixer tip has the right colour and consistency. During the usage of recently opened containers and older material respectively, the test piece should completely cure in order to verify the quality. Dispense a sufficient quantity of the adhesive onto the assembly parts to ensure that a minimum gap of 1mm is created during the pressing of the parts. Pay attention that the adhesive emerges at the exterior sides in order to guarantee a complete filling. Fixate the bonded parts to prevent them from shifting during the curing process. Excessive pressure on the assembly parts can in some cases have a negative effect for the thickness of the adhesive layer and hence the quality of the adhesive connection. In case of doubt, use a spacer or contact GLUETEC. Test the cured adhesive for its strength by pressing it with your fingernails. If they adhesive remains stabile, remove the spacer of fixations. Curing The processing time describes the approximate time, in which the adhesive stays in a liquid state and can be worked after the components A and B have been mixed. The fixing time describes the time that after the components A and B have been mixed, approximately remains to develop a strength of 1,4 Mpa/N/mm 2 and to allow for a careful positioning of the parts. Generally, the work pieces can be processed as soon as 80% of final strength have been reached. The time needed to reach 80% of final strength is approximately the double or triple length of time of the fixing time. In case of expected temperature fluctuations, please contact GLUETEC for technical support. Cleaning After the application, remove residues of the adhesive components as well as of the mixed adhesive with a suited cleaner [depending on the material type WIKO Metal Cleaner (AMTR.D500, AMTR.D1000) or WIKO Plastic Cleaner (AKSR.D500; AKSR.D1000) before the adhesive has fully cured. If an uncured adhesion is supposed to be exposed UV light, contact GLUETEC for further information. We do not recommend the cleaning of the adhered parts with industrial solvents due to the fact that these products can influence the curing process in a negative way. Storage and Shelf Life The shelf life of the components A and B in unopened packaging is 12 months starting with the date of shipping by Gluetec. The product requires storage at a temperature of +13 C and +27 C to maintain the maximum storage life. The storage at temperatures above +27 C can shorten the storage life considerably. Storage or transport at temperatures above +38 C can lead to the destruction of the B-component and are to be avoided at all times. The storage life of both components can be extended by storing them in a cool environment (between +10 C and +18 C). Attention, protect the components against frost at all times!

6 Page 6 / 6 Important Notes a. COMPATIBILITY OF SUBSTRATES AND APPLICATION. The user is asked to verify the suitability of the adhesive in connection with the used substrates and the application itself. GLUETEC explicitly recommends to perform tests that verify the efficiency of the adhesive in regard to the specific application before an extensive use. b. SURFACE PRETREATMENT. The necessity of a surface pre-treatment has to be verified with similar treated and untreated substrates. Preceding adhesive tests should be conducted with simulated stability tests to ensure that the surface condition of the material does not influence the adhesion negatively. Alterations of the substrates or the adhesive require a repetition of the test. c. TECHNICAL SUPPORT.
