Our technical support is just a phone call away! Technology Hotline: Sucess through Teamwork We pride ourselves on the fact that thousands of companies worldwide employ vanguard DATRON technology to achieve success! Moreover, it is the dedication of our 120+ employees that allows us to forge lasting relationships with our customers and yield effective solutions for their applications. Success based on solid Experience DATRON was founded in For more than 20 years, our primary focus has been on high-speed machining technology specifically for efficient milling with small tools. As a result, large companies such as Nokia, Siemens, IBM, Bosch and Stihl, as well as medium-size enterprises have turned to DATRON for solutions to their application-specific manufacturing challenges. Success Shared! Your success is our success. So, we strive to cultivate relationships built on mutual trust that stand the test of time. Effective relationships are the key to realizing truly exceptional goals. 4 5

Your motivation is our Drive David Comiskey (Comiskey Dental) Without CAD/CAM software or even a scanner, I feel outdated in the area of dental technology. So, I m in search of the optimal solution. Many of the available machines seem to carry a lot of restrictions. My Dream Machine combines the speed of an industrial production system with the flexibility to mill many materials and the ability to integrate with leading software packages. Also, 5-Axis machining is a must. The idea that three axis machining is sufficient is simply unacceptable. 5-Axis machining is the only way that the hand craftsmanship of the dental technician can be duplicated. Kerstin Strassburger (Zahntechnik Kerstin Strassburger) In 2004, we invested in a closed CAD/CAM system with a table sharpening unit and we re very content with it. The advantages include the compact dimensions, the simple software operation and the ability to work with different plastics, as well as ceramics such as zirconium dioxide, feldspar and glass ceramics. Since ceramics were already the primary material used in our laboratory, this was an important aspect for us. But, there are restrictions. For example, the size of the ceramic blocks cannot be any bigger than 85 mm and metals cannot be processed and require outsourcing. The perfect addition to our laboratory would be a compact, space saving, 5-Axis machine capable of all of this! Andrés Bernhardt (Dentallabor Bernhardt) We work with a scanner and software that yields STL files for use on many materials. The question arises whether a single milling machine can be compatible with these applications and flexible enough to meet the demands of hectic everyday lab life. Besides ceramics like zirconium, NEM is of paramount importance for us. Plus, we d like a machine designed with the flexibility to accommodate the newest materials like high-speed plastics and even ones that have not been developed yet. Finally, while we need to cut metals, conventional machines designed to do this are typically too big and heavy to fit into a tight space with old timber floor boards. 6 7

With just one Touch you have full control The innovative touch operator interface of the removable Apple ipad enables very simple programming of the DATRON Dental software. So, even from a distance, the machine operations and job status can be monitored. For example, by activating the Live View button, the ipad screen shows the machining area. A camera mounted inside the machine transmits the image to the removable ipad screen. This feature allows the operator to check the production status of the machine from another location, such as an office, or perhaps a ceramic station. Job Management In the DATRON Dental Machine software, the milling data generated by the CAM module is constantly synchronized with the job manager and activated when necessary. Simple Touch funtions can link jobs together according to priority and deadline... or they can be run independently if preferred. Blank Management Integrated blank management stores a library of data about the type and strength of the various materials comprising each individual blank (puck) housed within the automation unit. Before any milling procedure begins, a plausibility examination is completed. This yields as high a process security as possible. Tool Management Tool data defining each tool type allows for the simple selection of tools by the CAM module. Based on the function and machining time for which the tool will be employed, a pre-defined tool exchange (replacement) is scheduled thereby ensuring ongoing quality control

The Technology Aesthetics meets pure Function The DATRON D5 was developed specifically and exclusively for dental milling applications. All specifications from machine size to performance were designed for the efficient handling and milling of dental blanks (or material pucks). The blank is milled in the absolute center of the machine ensuring optimal cutting force. High performance servo and torque motors deliver superior machining dynamics and speed. Rigid and Accurate Rotating Axis The fact that the turning center of the axis lies directly in the center of the material blank leads to tremendous rigidity and contributes considerably to extremely high manufacturing accuracies. 1.8 kw Precision Spindle This spindle features HSK-E25 tool holders that have minimal run-out and high radial rigidity so there is less chance of tool breakage when using small tools. Internal liquid chilling keeps the bearings at a constant temperature which is important when tight depth tolerances are required. Precision Guides and Ball Screws Our high-quality and protected ball screws and guide ways guarantee extreme precision and durability with the lowest possible maintenance costs. Rigid, Vibration-dampening Construction Designed for Dental... Designed for Durability. Brushless servo and torque motors paired with a chassis made of cast steel, movable structure parts made from aluminum castings and a robust dental automation system provide impressive machine dynamics, as well as longevity

Productive from the start with 8-blank automation and innovative accessories The integrated 13-station tool changer is operator friendly and guarantees process safety. Superior production efficiency is reached with the tool-length and tool-break sensors. The optional 8-blank automation can hold 8 different materials (of different thickness) and allows up to 100 hours of unattended (or lights-out) production. Optimum results are achieved machining Chrome-Cobalt and Titanium due to the minimum coolant lubrication system. The exchange of the reservoir tank is facilitated by a user-friendly quick-change system. The fluid level is monitored and automatically displayed on the Apple ipad screen

Forward-thinking and flexible Complete application and material flexibility Improve Quality and Save Money with DATRON micro tools The innovative DATRON D5 provides dynamic flexibility with a built-in, 5-axis dental automation system and an open architecture that integrates with virtually any scanner and CAD/CAM software. This provides the user with the agility to produce a wide range of dental restoration components based on demand including crowns, bridges, abutments, telescopes, implant-carried resorations and bar work. Also, the production of models is now possible. Plus, the D5 accommodates and supurbly machines a variety of dental materials including NEM, titanium, chrome-cobalt, zirconium, PMMA, ceramics, gypsum... and more!
