SURFACE TREATMENT TECHNOLOGIES

Applied Nano Surfaces World s best partner for cost efficient friction & wear reduction ANS is a leading technology provider of low friction and anti-wear surface treatment processes. ANS has a unique portfolio of treatments and coatings that can be applied on a wide range of products. We help our customers to excel by improving product performance in a cost-efficient way, thus strengthening the value offered to the end users while reducing environmental impact. CUSTOMER VALUES Efficiency & Sustainability Reduced Friction Reduced Wear Enabling innovative solutions (e.g. low viscosity motor oils, start/stop etc ) Business Case Superior cost/performance Simplified manufacturing process New design concepts Customer Competitiveness Increased value offer Environmental sustainability Meet legislative demands Simplicity Standard machines and equipment Low investments Straight forward The ANS solutions are straight forward to implement using standard machines and equipment, streamlining manufacturing processes and offering superior total cost of ownership. ANS is a leading technology provider of innovative & cost-efficient technologies to reduce friction and wear in industrial applications

Technologies ANS currently have three core product categories for friction and wear reduction Triboconditioning is an inmanufacture running-in process for improving the tribological properties of components made of steel and cast iron. TriboNite is an advanced thermal processing & coating technology which combined the advantages of nitriding processes with the superior properties of solid lubricant coatings. Tricolit is a series of thermoset surface coatings serving to reduce friction and wear, and suitable for use on a variety of substrate materials.

Triboconditioning Triboconditioning is a mechanochemical surface finishing process used for improving the tribological properties of mechanical components made of steel or cast iron. The process combines elements of mechanical burnishing of the component surface with tribochemical deposition of a low-friction tribofilm. Hereby, the running-in behavior of treated components are improved and useful service life extended. Furthermore, treatment conditions can be optimized for each component individually, offering a high degree of design flexibility. Surface properties Creates an optimized plateau-like surface roughness profile Compressive stress effect depth approximately 10 um Improved post-running-in surface integrity Tribofilm thickness approximately 100 nm Benefits Reduced friction and wear Improved scuffing, pitting, and rolling fatigue resistance Simple and robust: Can run on standard turning, honing and milling machines Cost-efficient Average cam wear measured according to ASTMD6891 Regular Camshaft ANS Triboconditioned Camshaft 100 Coefficient of Friction 0,12 0,1 0,08 0,06 0,04 0, Wear [µm] 0,1 0,25 0,7 Sliding Speed [m/s] Triboconditioned parts demonstrate less running-in wear during early life and preserve better surface integrity over the entire service life when compared to regular components. tolerance level wear running-in wear steady-state wear service life Regular component Triboconditioned component time

TriboNite Advanced thermal processing & coating technology TriboNite is an advanced industrial thermal processing and coating technology which combines the advantages of nitriding with the superior tribological properties of solid lubricant coatings, a unique combination of mechanical toughness and low friction. Solid lubricant coating Hard surface layer Bulk material The TriboNite technology has been developed in a cooperation between Applied Nano Surfaces and Bodycote, the world-leading experts in surface and heat treatment technologies. Surface properties Surface hardness: HV Solid lubricant coating thickness: 1 µm Customizable solid lubricant composition Key benefits Reduced friction & wear Resistance to high shock loads Improved scuffing resistance Improved corrosion protection Friction Coefficient Wear Comparison [mm 3 ] 0,15 0,003 0,1 0,001 Case hardened TriboNite Case hardened TriboNite Linear reciprocating friction and wear test similar to ASTM G133. Test configuration: 10 mm 100Cr6 steel ball, 1 cm stroke, 20 N load, 5 Hz frequency and lubricated with PAO2

Tricolit Tricolit is a range of solid lubricant coatings for friction and wear reduction, suitable for spray- or dip-application onto a variety of substrate materials, including ferrous and non-ferrous alloys, galvanized surfaces, and certain types of plastics. The Tricolit family currently consists of five techniques: Packaged in cans or pails: Tricolit TIC A polymer-free thermo-induced solid lubricant coating technology. The technique proved to be highly efficient for a broad range of regular steel and sintered powder metal parts. Application requires special equipment please talk to our sales representatives. Tricolit PLX A low-voc water-borne polyurethane-acrylate specialty coating for plastic surfaces (ABS, PC). Provides improved aesthetics and superior tactile experience. Good wear resistance. Suitable for DIY application. Packaged in cans or spray bottles: Tricolit TSC A water-borne one-component epoxy coatings for metal surfaces. Different solid lubricant types can be used to target specific application needs. Available in different colors. Suitable for DIY application. Tricolit ZX A two-component solvent-borne polyurethane specialty coating for galvanized steel. Provides improved aesthetics, corrosion protection and wear resistance. Suitable for DIY application. Tricolit GO An innovative polymer-bonded solid-lubricant coating with enhanced abrasion resistance. This product uses graphene as an ultimate structural fortifier. Only black color. Suitable for DIY application. How it is done
