1 CLEARINOX Low Hexavalent Chromium Emission MMA and FCW range

2 Helping employers create a safer welding environment is a priority to OERLIKON A great way to reduce Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6+) in welding fume Fume and emission rates in welding Welding fume emission rates are infl uenced by different factors such as welding consumables, welding process selection & parameters and base materials. It is important to understand each factor and their infl uence in fume emission rate in order to reduce generation of Cr6+ in the fume. Ensure the base material is clean, optimize your welding parameters for the application and use the CLEARINOX product range, one of the most advanced consumables in reducing overall fume emission rates and the concentration of Cr6+ in the welding fume. Welding fume Welding process Base material surface Consumable Filler metal + Welding arc temperature between to 000 C and more Metallic vapor emission Dissipation outside the arc and Temperature diminution Condensation + Oxidation Particles creation How can I reduce Cr6+ in welding fume? CLEARINOX consumables reduce the Cr6+ emission rate. Use of CLEARINOX products in conjunction with a fume control strategy to minimize worker exposure to Cr6+ in welding fume.
