3 2.3 Example of Powderization: fish oil (EPA/DHA) Although fish oil (EPA/DHA) is well known as good material for health, it is very unstable and easy to oxidize in air. Therefore it is limited in dosage form. We focused on fish oil as powderization model with FLOIRTE. Fish oil is loaded into primary particle pore and particle aggregated space of FLORITE to same amount. Loading capacity is related with pore volume and shape. Primary particle pore of PS-10 was occupied by fish oil when loading ratio was 1 : 2. It can make tableting without leaking when primary particle pore volume remain after loading. After 4weeks, fish oil is oxidized rapidly without 4 keeping. However, fish oil powder is stable. 5 2.5.2 Prevention of oxidation by deoxidizer Deoxidizer, it absorbs oxygen in bag, can inhibit to oxidation on fish oil powder in any temperature. 6 2.6 Compressibility fish oil (EPA/DHA)- Get the tablet without any tableting troubles. The tablet hardness increases in proportion as tableting force. It is recommended to add binding agent, ex. MCC, in the formulation.
