2 Sodium silicate is corrosive and is a severe irritant to skin and especially eyes. May cause burns. If ingested can cause gastrointestinal upset. Chronic Health Hazards : Prolonged exposure to dust from dried product may result in pulmonary damage and silicosis. If breathing is difficult administer oxygen. Refer to physician immediately. Ingestion: If swallowed, drink plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting. Consult physician immediately.
