The formaldehyde emission diminishes gradually over time, from the product s manufacturing date. The cutting procedure of the board, manually or mechanically, as well as molding it, generates sanding dust. The main process make the resin react with the fiber but small amounts of formaldehyde coming from the resin may be liberated, even from the finished product. The finished product contains less than 0.015% of free formaldehyde in weight.

3 Quality Control Dept. TRUPAN PAGE III RISK IDENTIFICATION DESCRIPTION The board is not, in it s natural state, considered as a hazardous substance. The formaldehyde gas may be liberated in certain conditions, but in well ventilated storing areas and working places, the formaldehyde concentration is very low (less than 0.1 mg/l). Potential health effects Eye contact Skin contact The resin curing reduces the formaldehyde liberation in high concentrations. The sanding dust, gas and vapors, may be irritating to the eyes, cause problems and redness. No problems. The sanding dust may provoke allergy and dermatitis on sensible persons. Inhalation Excessive formaldehyde vapors may cause temporary irritation but it depends on the actual formaldehyde emission rate. Ingestion Medical observations Illnesses which can get worse by exposure Does not apply in normal use conditions. Any kind of allergy should be examined by doctor. In case a person has an existing or developed allergy, it may be necessary to arrange a another working place, not exposed to sanding dust. Cutting, sanding, and machining these products may produce dust, which may be an explosion risk when in contact with heat sources. According to information registered in the NFPA, 40 g/m 3 standard, is the minimum explosive concentration of wooden dust on the floor. VI MEANS IN CASE OF ACCIDENTAL LIBERATION Generally, the boards are not considered as hazardous substances. Materials to be avoided Strongly oxidizing agents and acids. Decomposition of hazardous Thermal decomposition, degradation by oxidation or products combustion of the material may provoke irritation, generate potentially toxic fumes and vapors, including carbon monoxides, nitrogen monoxide, aldehydes and organic acids. Sensibility Some articles propose that formaldehyde may cause breathing sensibilities such as asthma, and that if asthma already exists, it may get worse by exposure to this element. XIII CONSIDERATIONS ON DISPOSAL Disposal of residues There are no special requirements for disposal this material, as it isn t considered to generate any hazardous residues according to regulations in the country of origin. These residues can be incinerated or disposed at a dump according to regulations in the county of destiny. The use of high speed cutting tools may generate excessive amounts of dust. The dust may be an explosion risk if it, in high concentration, gets in contact with a spark source (this depends on the particle size and it s humidity). The combustion of boards or sanding dust may generate carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and other products of the pyrolysis. XIV TRANSPORT INFORMATION This product is not a hazardous material. XV INFORMATION ON REGULATIONS OSHA Wooden products do not present a risk under certain criteria according to definitions in OSHA Standard 29 CFR However, the dust generated by cutting, sanding, or machining, can present a risk.
