Perfrmance Standards Cmpetence will be demnstrated: n the welding and cutting equipment in the EAC welding shp. Criteria - Perfrmance will be satisfactry when: learner wrks safely and uses apprpriate safety gear with each piece f welding equipment. learner sets up all f the welding equipment crrectly fr the required cnditins. learner perates all f the welding equipment safely. learner uses all apprpriate safety prcedures while using welding and cutting equipment. 2. Operate the O-A cutting trch and plasma trch t prduce accurate cuts in metal prjects. Learning bjectives What yu will learn as yu master the cmpetency: a. Diagram the cutting prcesses and explain hw they wrk. b. List the cmpnents f an x-acetylene cutting trch and explain hw they wrk. c. List the cmpnents f a plasma trch and explain hw they wrk. d. Criteria - Perfrmance will be satisfactry when: learner installs cmpnents and adjusts each piece f cutting equipment crrectly. learner makes precise and accurate cuts n different thicknesses and shapes f metal using the xy-acetylene trch, the plasma cutter, the arc-air trch, the pwer shear, the irn wrker, the hrizntal band saw and the abrasive cut ff saw. learner prduces a minimum f waste in the cutting prcess.
