Immediate effects: Slightly hazardous in case of skin contact (irritant, permeator), of eye contact (irritant), of ingestion, of inhalation. Potential health effects Primary Routes of entry: Inhalation, Ingestion. Signs and Symptoms of Overexposure: Ingestion of large doses may affect behavior/central nervous system (tetany). However, if a significant amount of phosphate is absorbed, hypophosphatemia will occur. Severe hypophosphatemia may result in hypocalcaemia and tetany. Cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and musculoskeletal effects may occur secondary to hypernatremia, hypophosphatemia, and hypocalcaemia. Eyes: Causes mild eye irritation. Skin: Slightly hazardous in case of skin contact (irritant, permeator). May cause dermatitis.
