2 The Castomer Range of Urethane Elastomers The Castomer products are principally two and three pack systems, including TDI and MDI ether and ester based systems. The Castomers with an LM suffix signify that they are TDI prepolymers with low free TDI monomer, which reduce processing hazards and ensure that Baxenden Chemicals Ltd is at the cutting edge of the Elastomer industry. The capacity to remove TDI providing prepolymers with <0.1% free TDI products means that Baxenden takes both its environmental and legislative responsibilities to the forefront of the industry. The benefits of using this technology include faster de-mould times and reduced TDI exposure which enhances both productivity and health and safety in the workplace. The Castomers are used in a wide range of castable systems, from hand mix to machine processing of materials for a large cross section of industries. Castomer E100 LM series The Castomer E100 LM series are TDI PTMEG prepolymers with very low monomeric isocyanate content <0.1% free TDI. They can be used in conjunction with MBOCA in the manufacture of cast polyurethane elastomers. The series is available in a range of hardnesses to enable production of high quality cast materials in a wide range of applications. Castomer E110 LM and E110 series The Castomer E110 LM and E110 series are TDI PPG prepolymers with low monomeric isocyanate content. The Castomer E110 LM series contains <0.1% free TDI while the Castomer E110 series typically <2%. Both series can be used in conjunction with MBOCA as well as active amines. The Castomer E112 LM series are TDI PPG prepolymers and resins supplied as resin and Iso 2K systems with a range of hardnesses. These can be cast at ambient temperature to create a range of general PU casted parts. 4 Castomer E202 series The Castomer E202 series are MDI PTMEG prepolymers. These are available in a range of hardnesses to enable production of high quality cast materials. The Castomer E202 series are used mainly in conjunction with 1,4-Butane Diol (1,4-BD). Castomer E203 series The Castomer E203 series are PTMEG based resins. They are used in 2K and 3K systems in the manufacture of cast polyurethane elastomers. These produce a wide range of hardnesses to enable ease of formulation. Isocyanate 132 is the low viscosity MDI Iso used in conjunction with the Castomer E203 series and 1,4-Butane Diol to produce a range of hardnesses from 65A to 60D. Screens Mining Key properties include: High hydrolysis resistance; high abrasion resistance and good mechanical properties. Castomer E212 series The Castomer E212 series are based upon PPG resin chemistry. The Castomer E212 series are low viscosity liquid materials, which are available in a range of hardnesses to enable production of high quality cast materials. Isocyanate 132 is the low viscosity MDI Iso used in conjunction with the Castomer E212 series of resins. Castomer E223 series The Castomer E223 series are MDI ester prepolymers and polyester based resin components. The Castomer E223 series are used in 2K and 3K systems in the manufacture of cast polyurethane elastomers. These are available in a range of hardnesses to enable production of high quality cast materials. They are mainly used in conjunction with the 1,4-Butane Diol to produce a range of hardnesses from 55A to 95A.
