7 Particle Size Distribution In our flexible atomizing facilities we are capable of manufacturing high quality metal powder in an extremely wide range of particle size distributions, up to 250 μm. In particular, Sandvik has developed proprietary technology specifically designed for the production of fine powder, less than 38 μm. Different applications require different particle size distributions. In the context of Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) Sandvik offers the following standard particle size ranges: typical particle size distributions* Particle size distribution (µm) D 10 (%) D 50 (%) D 90 (%) % % % *Values measured using Malvern laser diffraction method of particle analysis.
