Accidental Release Measures Personal Precautions Environmental Precautions Methods for Clean Up Gloves (nitrile), chemical resistant coveralls, chemical resistant footwear, safety glasses Do not allow product to enter surface drains or watercourses. Ventilate area. Scoop, vacuum or sweep up spilt material without generating dust. Place in an appropriate container for disposal. Flush area with water to remove residues. Section 7. Handling and Storage Handling Handle with care Corrosive. Empty containers may have hazardous residues. ALWAYS add caustic potash to water with constant stirring. Water should be warm never hot or cold. Addition of caustic potash to water will cause a rise in temperature. If material is added too quickly, or hot or cold water is used, temperature rise may be rapid and a dangerous situation may occur. Liquid may boil, spatter or violently erupt. Storage Store in a cool dry place. Keep containers closed when not in use. Section 8.
