1 SIRIM PRODUCT CERTIFICATION LICENSE (PCL) FOR THE PURPOSE OF CERTIFICATION OF STANDARDS COMPLIANCE (PERAKUAN PEMATUHAN STANDARD PPS) FOR CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS UNDER THE FOURTH SCHEDULE [Subsection 33c (1)] The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) has regulated the Act 520 (amendment 2011): Certification of Standards Compliance for Building Materials (Perakuan Pematuhan Standard-PPS), which will be enforced on 1 December The Act 520 was amended to ensure that only local or imported building materials which meets the specified standards are used in construction projects. This will prevent any safety risks to construction personnel and the public from the usage of low quality materials. The enforcement of this Act will also enable the identification of certified building materials through standardized marking. SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd., has been recognized by the CIDB as a conformity assessment body for the issuance of Product Certification License (PCL), a critical components under PPS grant in ensuring the construction products/materials conform to standards. Additionally, SIRIM QAS International is also offering testing of construction materials to fulfil the standard s requirements.
