1 SIGHT GLASS MODEL: BV 91 ISO 02 SGS/EQCI colour of product throughtout process INDICATION Flow indication is the most common application. The sight glass is fitted in a fluid pipe line to indicate if the fluid is flowing correctly. They can therefore be used to detect blocked valves, strainers, steam traps and other pipeline equipment which would otherwise reduce plant efficentcy and safety. Operation of steam traps and liquid drainers can be inspected with the use of sight glasses to verify if live steam or process vapour is leaking through. INSPECTION For inspection purposes, sight glasses can be used to compare colour of the product at different stages of the production process to enable adjustments to be made quickly and effectively. Sight glasses application: The sight glass has a smooth concentric reduction in the inlet connection which promotes turbulence in the sight glass when the fluid is passing through it. The turbulent flow inside the sight glass permits any fluid to be detected. INSTALLATION Sight glasses should be installed in such a way that they can be readily viewed. For steam trap indication, they should be fitted after the trap and at least 1 M. away when used with blast discharge steam traps. BV 91 Sight Glass is double window with flanged or screw connections. STANDARDS This product fully complies with the requirements of ISO 5208 pressure testing and Certification is available with a Typical Test Report and is also available with certificaiton to EN 3.1B and 2.2B if specified.
