1 GENAMID 490 Use Genamid 490 resin is a liquid amidoamine developed especially for reaction with liquid or solid epoxy resins. It can be used as all or part of the curing agent component in high solids, adhesive, sealant, electrical potting, coating and flooring applications. This Product has many advantages compared to similar curing agents. These include: Low Viscosity, Instant compatibility with epoxy resins, long potlife and wide range formulations latitude. 4 Miscellaneous PACKAGING, STORAGE AND HANDLING Genamid 490 may absorb moisture and carbon dioxide if left in open containers. This may result in an increased viscosity and some foaming when curing epoxy resins. Therefore, it should be kept in tightly closed containers when not in use and stored in a cool, dry place. Properly protected from moisture, the product has a minimum shelf life of one year. Genamid 490 and epoxy resins should not be mixed until just prior to use because a chemical reaction will take place. Read SAFETY INFORMATION before handling or using product. Safety Information Based on toxicological studies with animals, Genamid 490 causes severe eye and skin irritation or burns and may be harmful if swallowed. Do not get product in eyes, on skin or on clothing. Do not inhale product. Use only with adequate ventilation. Wear recommended protective equipment. In case of skin or eye contact, immediately flush with plenty of clean running water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing. Call a physician. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting until after consulting a physician. Immediately drink large quantities of milk or water and call a physician. Recommended protective equipment includes chemical goggles, rubber gloves and work clothing plus splash apron and respirator with organic vapor filter unless used with local exhaust. Use an air hood plus other protective equipment if used in a confined area GENAMID_r_490_E 4
