Specializing in the Pulp and Paper Industry. We offer soda blast cleaning, dryer can cleaning, surface preparation and coating of paper machinery and structural steel. 90% of the work we do is in Pulp and Paper mills. Because we specialize in Pulp and Paper our crews are very familiar with working during shut downs and the absolute necessity of completing our work on or before the indicated deadline. We have never held up the start up of a mill because our work was not completed. Safety is our first priority and our record is outstanding, we have never had a lost time injury. 3 Corrosion Corrosion occurs in all metals at some time Room temperature oxidation, the most common form, is most obvious in mild and low-alloy steels. The process is accelerated dramatically by comparatively small amounts of contaminants found in the paper making process. When exposed to high temperatures, metals will almost invariable result in oxidation of metal surfaces. Chemical corrosion is the result of attack by acids or alkaline compounds which dissolve the metal surface. Electrolytic corrosion occurs when two metals in contact with each other have different electrode potentials. It is a major contributor to most of the corrosion found in steels. By virtue of its environment the paper machine is prone to corrosion. 3

6 Surface Preparation Thorough surface preparation is an absolute necessity and the key to a successful coating system. After thorough mechanical cleaning, the substrate is soda blasted to remove contaminants before coatings are applied. A thoroughly clean substrate will allow the coating system to do its job. 6

7 Why bicarbonate of soda? Delivered under pressure using compressed air and soda blasting equipment, the nontoxic, water soluble baking soda crystal physically removes coatings or soils from the substrate. Because of its relative softness and friability, the crystal disintegrates on impact without distortion of most substrates. We are able to clean the steel machine frame or structure without damage to hoses, hydraulic lines, rolls, bearings, blades. While obtaining a clean contaminant free, ready for coatings, substrate. 7

Annual Maintenance shutdowns are an ideal time to schedule this work. We are available around the clock but typically our people work night shifts while other mechanical work can be carried on throughout the day. 22

33 The low pressure soda blast cleaning will remove contaminants with minimal impact to delicate aluminum cooling fins. 33

34 When it comes time to insulate a steam lines, tanks or other equipment we offer our Nansulate thermal insulating products, no longer will the expense of CUI (corrosion under insulation) be a worry. Energy costs can be reduced by insulating areas that in the past had been impractical. Nansulate is a patented nanotechnology based line of coatings that utilize a nanoparticle that has a very low thermal conductivity. The coating acts as a liquid thermal insulator that can be applied to many different surfaces types, including buildings and equipment, to inhibit heat flow through the material. 34
