2 The in-kind contribution that ICPE-CA will deliver for the FAIR project is subject of a Contract with the following signatory parts: FAIR GmbH, as the recipient Company; MEN, as Shareholder; ICPE-CA, as Provider. The Contract stipulates that ICPE-CA will deliver to FAIR GmbH, between 2013 and 2018, following equipments: Sextupol Magnet - 66 pieces; Steerer Magnet 53 pieces; Magnet Power Supply 82 pieces; The total value of the Contract is:

5 To fulfill the objectives of the Contract there are foreseen following activities: Elaboration of the technical and manufacturing projects; Manufacturing of the pre-series ; Manufacturing of the series components; Elaboration of the quality assurance plan, including testing procedures for FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SAT (Site Acceptance Tests); Packing and shipment of the equipments to the FAIR site; Assembly at the final location; The final system and integration tests; Preparation and delivery of documentation. 5

6 Acquiring of soft iron sheets for the yokes Supplier: VOESTALPINE AUSTRIA Material: Isovac A Adhesive: Remisol EB 548, with 6 µm thickness on both sides Quantity: sheets with 525 x 250 x 1 mm for sextupole magnets; sheets with 350 x 606 x 1 mm for steerer magnets; ~70 tones in 1 batch / 5 coils with mm width. Status: it was acquired and delivered to Nuclear & Vacuum. 6

7 Acquiring of copper conductor for the coils Supplier: BUNTMETALL AUSTRIA Material: Cu-OFE in R200 soft condition, with >58 m/ωxmm 2 conductivity; Dimensions: Rectangular pipe with 10,6 x 7 mm outer dimensions and with Ø4 mm inner diameter; Quantity: m; ~7.800 kg. Status: it was acquired and delivered to Nuclear & Vacuum. 7

20 Epoxy resin for coils -the transparent and radiation resistant epoxy resin - MY745, was purchased from Huntsman; - for coils potting, there were tested several types of molds made from silicon, but the tests leads to the conclusion that we need to manufacture metallic molds, because the resin attacked the silicon; - the tests were performed by Bertuel Prototypes - France; - the molds were manufactured, also by Bertuel. 20

28 Yokes manufacturing We have created a sextupole magnet stack of lamination: stacking > gluing > outer milling > stainless steel plates welding, with very good results; also for the steerer magnet. We have tested the EDM process, for the sextupole yoke and also, for the steerer yoke, but the measurements revealed that some dimensions are out of the imposed tolerances. 28
