The plnter modules re mnuftured in setions for olting together to rete lrge, long nd shped plnters. The plnter se is onstruted using 45x45mm FSC ertified treted redwood with 12mm Mrine grde plywood. The module is strengthened using ross re strps or rkets. When fully onstruted, the se of the plnter is fully lined with geotextile lining whih llows wter to drin through whilst retining the soil fines. Stndrd se With optionl se (for tree nd movle plnters) The Bowden metl plnter, is onstruted y fixing wethering steel plnter ody to fully welded mild steel se frme. The internl se is onstruted using 75x50x6mm mild steel ngle. The plnter wlls re strengthened using 50x10mm ross re strps. FSC ertified treted Eulyptus plywood sheeting is lid onto the se. Plnter feet re fitted to the underside of the se frme, to ensure tht the lod is sfely trnsferred to the ground. When fully onstruted, the se of the plnter is fully lined with geotextile lining whih llows wter to drin through whilst retining the soil fines. The system ensures the optimum use of the wter nd nutrients, delivering the mximum quntity diretly to the roots of the plnts, resulting in improved root development nd optiml plnt growth. Generl The system onsists of 300 miron thik lk polythene liner, hydrole (pulverised sh grnules) sks nd rigid plsti filler pipe. The system delivers wter diretly to the roots vi 50mm dimeter, rigid plsti pipe, eliminting wter wstge. This enourges deep root growth, improving long term drought resistne. The high level filler pipe provides n esy ess point for wtering nd solule fertiliser pplition. 6 ADJUSTABLE FEET Generl detils As n extr ost option, Street Design plnters n e supplied with djustle feet. They llow the plnter to e levelled, efore filling nd plnting. Adjustle feet re prtiulrly useful if the plnters re likely to e reloted to new position. The djustle foot srew fits into hex nut, loted on the underside of the plnter se. djustle foot housing se erer Bse dimeter M30 djustle foot with swivel se. The se dimeter is 122mm. M30 hex full nut Adjustle Foot Mounting Plte Swivel se The swivel se n djust to llow for sloping ground with fll of up to 1 in 2.06 (26 ). Speifition The djustle foot omprises of M30 Ø threded r, with spheril end setion, press fitted into lk reinfored polymide se. The swivel se n tilt through 360º to ommodte sloping ground levels. The threded r is BZP (right zin plted) treted. Fitting nd djustment Adjustle Foot The M30 djustle foot with swivel se, is srewed into djustle foot mounting plte. The mild steel mounting plte with djustle foot housing, is fixed to the underside of the plnter se. A M30 hex full nut is welded to the underside of the mounting plte. The ttrtive nture of mture wethering steel lends plesingly with the environment nd it s pperne hnges nd improves with ge. The verge period fter whih the nturl oxidtion is onsidered to e stle nd when it permnently tkes on it s typil rusty rown olour nd does not relese ny more rust powder, is 12 to 18 months. If required, timer enh slts n e supplied with stined finish using 3 ots of quik drying wter sed wood stin, to the olour of you hoie. Mild steel plnter enhes will e left with glvnised finish only. If required, fter hot dip glvnising, the mild steel omponents n e polyester powder oted, to the olour of your hoie. The glvnised prts re prepped, treted nd spryed with the polyester powder, efore eing ked in n oven. Stinless steel plnter enhes will hve dull polished finish. Ref: 40/B

9 CARE & MAINTENANCE Generl All Bowden plnter produts re mnuftured using qulity mterils nd finishes. The se frmes will e fully welded mild steel nd will e hot dip glvnised fter frition. The wethering steel will e supplied with its nturl finish. All produts require vried mount of mintenne, depending on the environment, usge nd wether onditions. Glvnised steel will only require lening. In time, the optionl powder oted mild steel will require re-oting. Generlly, the wethering steel should not e touhed, due to the properties of the nturlly wethering mteril. It is importnt to regulrly visully inspet the plnter ody, s detiled elow. Mintining the stndrd mild steel finish Hot dip glvnised mild steel is very durle nd hrd wering finish. Dirt n e wshed off with wrm wter nd mild detergent. Alwys use len wter nd lening loths to void surfe ontmintion. After lening, ny severe mrks n e over pinted with old glvnised, (zin rih) erosol spry. Mintining the optionl mild steel finish Polyester powder oted finishes should e wshed down with len wrm wter nd mild detergent. Minor touhing up n e done with n erosol to mth the originl powder oted olour. Detils n e otined from. More severe dmge n e repired y snding down, y mnul or mehnil mens, eyond the dmged re, suffiiently fr s to ensure tht ny step in the powder oted finish is removed. This will ensure tht fter re-finishing the repir will e diffiult to detet. Mintining the stndrd wethering steel finish Visul inspetions of wethering steel should e rried out t lest every two yers. The surfe ondition of the oxide ptin is good inditor of performne. Adherent, fine-grined oxide indites tht orrosion is progressing s expeted, while orse, flking lyers of oxide suggest exessive orrosion. Visul inspetions should lso look for, suh s umultions of dirt or deris nd moisture retention due to overgrown vegettion. Any serious prolems should e tred nd retified s soon s possile, to ensure the steel mintins its performne for the life of the plnter. Using soft loth, len the ontminted re with wrm wter nd mild detergent. More stuorn res n e lened using stiff rush with wrm wter nd mild detergent. Ref: 50/A
