Taarup BIO Round Bale Processor Compact machine with excellent manoeuvrability
The Taarup BIO - a compact high-capacity solution. Bale and wrap in one operation The Taarup BIO is a fully integrated baler and wrapper combined in a very compact solution. It allows you to bale and wrap round bales in one operation, saving time and not least money. Thanks to this unique wrapping solution, the Taarup BIO maintains high overall capacity levels. The bale is wrapped while still in the baling chamber, without any additional operations in between. This ensures that the bale is sealed immediately, providing the best basis for first class silage and minimising the risk of nutrient loss. 2
Low weight minimum ground impact The Taarup BIO sets a new standard for silage making. Its highly compact and lightweight design features a fully integrated baler and wrapper in the same chamber. Control box for ultimate comfort The Taarup BIO gives reliable control over the entire machine. Functions such as the number of film layers, amount of net, cutter-unit, pick-up and bale counter can all be easily set and monitored from the control box. View from the tractor seat. Excellent overview during operation The Taarup BIO allows excellent visual monitoring due to its compact design. The control box allows the driver to monitor the entire baling and wrapping process. The upper part of the baling chamber hood is raised during wrapping, giving the driver an excellent view of the wrapping process and subsequent bale tipping. If a larger tractor is used in combination with Taarup BIO, it is even possible to see over the machine when reversing. With a total weight of only 3250 kg, the Taarup BIO causes minimum ground impact. 3
Instant wrapping yields optimum silage quality Compared to conventional baler and wrapper combinations, the Taarup BIO provides for optimum silage quality. During the wrapping process the bale stays in the baling chamber, ensuring that it does not expand, so minimising the amount of air trapped in the bale. 4
The Taarup BIO has a fixed round bale chamber with a pick up width of 2.10 m. This wide pick up ensures a uniform flow of material into the baler. The control box informs the driver when the bale is finished, and ready for wrapping. Once the upper part of the baling chamber is raised, the bale is ready for immediate wrapping. The Taarup BIO comprises a very fast wrapping solution featuring two integrated prestretchers. They ensure the high overall capacity level of the machine despite having to remain stationary during the wrapping process. After wrapping, the lower part of the baling chamber is lowered allowing the bale to rolls gently to the ground. The Taarup BIO provides for optimum silage quality With Taarup BIO, the bale is wrapped with stretch film whilst still in the baling chamber. With a conventional baling/wrapping system the bale tends to expand when being transferred from the baling chamber to the wrapping table. Immideate wrapping and closing of the bale ensures optimum fermentation. The Taarup BIO ensures better bales Bales produced by the Taarup BIO have considerable higher density than bales made with competing systems. Bales made with the Taarup BIO will retain their diameter of 1.25 m. By contrast, conventional bales contain a higher volume of air and requires a greater quantity of stretch film due to their larger diameter. 5
The Taarup BIO is perfect on hill slopes even with smaller tractors due to its low weight. Good manoeuvrability Even on hill slopes or in smaller fields, the Taarup BIO s excellent manoeuvrability makes it the perfect solution. Negotiating an uphill slope. The Taarup BIO has a lightweight design and a total weight of only 3250 kg. This produces less soil compaction, and removes the need for a high powered tractor, thus reducing fuel consumption. This compact, lightweight and agile machine is highly manoeuvrable and is suitable for smaller fields, easily negotiating awkwardly corners. Its compact design makes turning in the field, or reversing very easy, ensuring high efficiency during operation. The Taarup BIO is ideal for working on hill slopes with steep gradients. The lightweight design makes it possible to use the same tractor requirements as for a normal baler. Relative ground pressure The bale maintains the correct position in the chamber. Comp. A Comp. B Comp. C Soil Compaction Comp. D Taarup 6 Easy turning on headlands with Taarup BIO makes it a perfect machine for smaller fields. The Taarup BIO s compact design ensures access through narrow gates where larger machines might have problems. A hydraulic lever ensures that bales are tipped onto the flat side, even on hill slopes.
Well-compressed bales The Taarup BIO features a fixed chamber baler with a bale diameter of 2.10 m. Its 18 steel rollers, each with a diameter of only 190 mm, produce excellent bale compaction, and reduce the amount of air trapped inside. The baling system offers very reliable performance even in extreme conditions. The baling chamber s 18 steel rollers are made of 3 mm-thick steel, giving tremendous stability and reliability. The strong ball bearings can be greased through easily accessible greasing points. The 2.10 m wide pick-up ensures smooth feeding of even the largest swaths. The 14-blade cutter unit increases the amount of material in each bale by up to 25%. Low-friction plates that significantly reduce power consumption are available as an option. A spiral-formed springloaded arm smoothly binds the netting across the full width of the bale. The net roll can be easily replaced using the special supporting chain. 7
High-speed wrapping The Taarup BIO features two pre-stretchers attached to a specially designed ring. The pre-stretchers rotate around the bale at very high speed and ensure fast and efficient bale wrapping. The wrapping speed is considerably higher than conventional satellite wrapping equipment and is the key to achieving the high overall capacity level of the Taarup BIO. Wrapping ring The wrapping ring, fitted with two Taarup pre-stretchers, is well balanced, and runs on four supports. The quick start-up and slowdown ensure fast wrapping. The wrapping ring is positioned close to the bale, minimising the amount of trapped air. Wrapped in 15 seconds! From the moment the cover is opened, it only takes 15 seconds to produce a bale wrapped with 6 layers of film with a 50% overlap. The wrapping ring ensures very high speed meaning that even though the machine has to remain stationary during wrapping, it maintains excellent efficiency and high output. 8
Bale wrapping is even possible on hill slopes because the bale is held firmly in position relative to the wrapping ring. Full control of film overlap The base of the baling chamber, on which 6 rollers are mounted, is used as table during the wrapping process to ensure precise bale rotation. The rollers are closely synchronised with the two pre-stretchers ensuring a constant 50% film overlap during wrapping, which is essential for producing optimum silage quality. The control box keeps the driver informed about the number of film layers during the entire wrapping process. Bale held in position During the wrapping operation the bale is held in the correct position by support rollers. This ensures that the bale remains in position even on hill slopes and prevents any wear and tear caused by high friction contact between the film and the steel sides of the machine. Gentle unloading to avoid damage on the wrapped bale. The lower part of the baler chamber is used as wrapping table to ensure precise bale wrapping. Film rolls are changed by pushing a handle and removing the empty core. Insert the new film roll and flick the handle back into position. The Taarup BIO can be supplied with an accessory to ensure continuous wrapping even if a film breaks or only a single film roll is left. 9
Careful unloading After wrapping it is highly recommended that the bales are placed on the flat side with the highest number of film layers. Taarup offers a bale turner for the BIO, which is an efficient system that carefully turns the bale. A rubber fall mat for additional protection of the bale is available as an option. The optional bale turner tips the bales off carefully and gently without damaging them. The lower part of the wrapping table is lowered and the bale is easily tipped off and turned by the bale turner. 10
