The Importance of STEM 17

Why do we do what we do? Energize students to become part of a global solution. Discuss the impact of sustainable, affordable energy with students and parents around the world. My work at the Foundation is mostly about vaccines and seeds, about the things that we need to invent and deliver to help the poorest two billion live better lives, but energy and climate are extremely important to these people -- in fact, more important than to anyone else on the planet. Bill Gates 18

Opportunities Around the World Use a map of the world or globe at careers fairs and schools to demonstrate to students where office locations, customers and business partners are. Talk to students about the opportunity to travel and see different cultures. 19

Diversity in STEM Engineers are problem solvers! Engineers play a part in everything in our surroundings. Materials Mechanical Civil Nuclear Environmen tal Outside of Engineering there are multiple career opportunities Electrical Engineers Computer Biosystems Chemical 20
