The Commercial Multipurpose Port: 2.5 million m 2 (850,000 m 2 customs boundary) 90 berths and 13 km of quays, 3 railways & 60 km of tracks, freight traffic fully separate from the urban one 3. Ongoing development works 1. Major infrastructural interventions are already ongoing as the works for direct electrified railway link from the port to the coastal railway line started in September 2014. 2. Ongoing development plans 1. Livorno Port Authority is planning long term development interventions to ensure direct rail conncetion to the hinterland: notably, within the TEN-T funded Action RACCORDO the designs of small scale rail connections is envisaged.
