MG 29, D 81 TRAILL FAMILY COLLECTION MG 29, D 81 MATERIAL ON MICROFILM Reel CORRESPONDENCE 1836-1885 A-809 Thomas Traill from Douro, near Peterborough, to his first wife s sister, Barbara Fotheringhame at Kirkwall, Scotland regarding family matters, and the birth of his daughter Katherine Agnes, and concerning their life in Douro. Thomas Traill from Douro to his first wife s father, Patrick Fotheringhame in Orkney, regarding Traill s sons by his first wife, his finances and the internal chain of lakes between Kingston and L. Simcoe being made navigable. Catharine Parr Traill and Thomas Traill to Barbara Fotheringhame suggesting she should join them and that she and C.P.T. should open a school and informing her of essential supplies to bring. Thomas Traill from Park Cottage, near Peterborough, to his first wife s brother, Wm. Fotheringhame, Sheriff Clerk of Orkney, following the destruction of their home by fire and the loss of all his books and papers. He mentions his wife s relations, the Stricklands, living nearby. Much of the letter is taken up with his finances and he encloses a copy of a will he has just made, witnessed by Walter and Katharine Strickland of Reydon Cottage. [Copy?] letter from Catherine M.
