TV4NEWOOD ThermoVacuum: new process FOR NEW generation of thermally modified WOOD PROJECT ECO/12/333079 BARCELONA - ECO INNOVATION FORUM 2015

PROJECT INTRODUCTION TV4NEWOOD deals with the patented Thermovacuum technology for thermal wood modification performed in vacuum conditions. Thermovacuum process improves the overall wood characteristics without any chemical or raw material additives, so the material and process are absolutely environmentally friendly, and a Green alternative to chemically treated wood The molecular changes in wood structure have a result of: Very high DURABILITY (equal or better to best tropical wood without impregnation) Outstanding DIMENSIONAL STABILITY (swelling and shrinkage reduced over 75%) Certified ODOURLESS (indoor utilisation for parquet, furniture) Natural HARDNESS INCREASED Consistent QUALITY THROUGHOUT (from surface to core) 100% NON TOXIC & RECYCLABLE Expanded usage opportunities enhancing the exploitation of local species

PROJECT ACTIONS Plant Manufacturing Process Fine Tuning Data Collection Life Cycle Assessment Mass Energy Balance Process and Product Standardisation Market Replication MANUFACTURE OF INDUSTRIAL THERMOVACUUM PLANT IPR STRATEGY & PATENTING AT INTERNATIONAL LEVEL PROCESS STANDARDISATION OF 7 ESSENCES PRODUCT CHARACTERISTIC CERTIFICATION VALIDATION OF ENERGETIC, ECOLOGICAL AND ECONOMIC BENEFITS DEMONSTRATION ACTIVITIES & END-USERS EXPERIENCE LUXURY YACHT FURNISHING AND CLADDING MARKET PENETRATION
