ICCAS Background - Challenges for Grenada à Summary Grenada is particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate changes. Policies and strategies relating to climate change adaptation exist, however a strategic and comprehensive approach to adaptation, including coordination across sectors and the implementation of concrete measures is needed. Strategy The programme follows an integrated approach to climate change adaptation rather than fragmented measures. This means: Multi-level-Approach (from the national to the local level) Multi-sectoral approach Working with a multitude of different actors (relevant ministries/ authorities, and communities, the private sector and academia) Implementing and testing concrete measures Cooperation with other regional initiatives, stakeholders and projects International outreach: Make results of the project accessible and applicable to other countries in the region Seite 7

Create incentives for climate resilient management practices for private landowners. Reduce invasive species that threaten to undermine the climate resilience of Grenada s forest and agricultural ecosystems and replacement of these species with climate resilient productive species.
