The Tacoma Rail Advantage Coordinated Intermodal Yard Ops 3 scheduled joint conference calls/day between Port of Tacoma Intermodal Dept, rail service providers and individual intermodal yards Frequent contact with Tacoma Rail, NWCS, BNSF Railway, Union Pacific Railroad, and individual intermodal yards daily Business Exchange Provides customers with shared data on arrival & departure of trains & vessels Provides supply chain visibility for containers from arrival at the Port to final destination Remote access 24 hours/day Customer Service Dedicated Intermodal Department Monthly stakeholder meetings Flexibility to customize reports to meet stakeholder needs. Provide rail updates on events that impact Port of Tacoma customers and stakeholders.
The Tacoma Rail Advantage Regional Rail Service Builds additional flexibility and intermodal service options for BCO/NVO customers in Port-to-Port model Northwest Container Services [NWCS] facility located within Port of Tacoma industrial area in close proximity to Port terminals and transload service providers Currently, intermodal service between Tacoma & Portland 3x per week with the potential to expand to daily service Owned fleet of double stack rail cars for added security and scheduling flexibility The Port of Tacoma is connected to major PNW consumer and agricultural export markets via Union Pacific Railroad and NWCS network of intermodal rail facilities
