Taxes such as income tax, VAT on works contract and labour cess shall be deducted as per the Government norms. Service tax shall be paid by the contractor to the concerned department on demand and it will be reimbursed to him by the Engineer- Page 1 of 4
in-charge after satisfying that it has been actually and genuinely paid by the contractor. 4. The payment shall be made after execution of work or as decided by Engineer-in-charge in the interest of work. 5. Security Deposit shall be deducted @ 2.5% of the gross amount of each running & final bill till the sum deducted will amount to Security Deposit of 2.5% of the work order amount. 6. The Security Deposit shall not be refunded before the expiry of 6 months after the issue of the certificate final or otherwise of completion of work, or till the final bill has been prepared and passed whichever is later. 7. The department shall not be responsible for any accident and theft before handing over and completion of work. 8. The department can close the work order at any time without any notice. 9. The work shall be executed as per CPWD specifications 2009 (Vol.-I & II) with upto date correction slips. 10. Any damage/mishappenings/legal proceeding/ compensation occurred during the execution of the contract shall be borne by the agency and department shall not be responsible for any such occurrence.
