RADHAKRISHNAN: Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE ãðšãäóã एव क स न ल य ण ½ãâ ããè be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has recently approved Rs. 4,000/- crore from National Disaster Relief Fund to various States; (b) if so, the details of assistance demanded by States and given so far by the Union Government; (c) whether some State Governments have demanded additional assistance from NDRF from the Union Government and if so, the amount released by the Union Government so far; (d) whether the Central team has visited several drought affected States in the recent past; (e) if so, the details thereof; and (f) the details of the report and the financial assistance released by the Union Government so far? -2- ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE ãðšãäóã एव क स न ल य ण ½ãâ ããêã¾ã ½ãñâ À㠾㠽ãâ ããè (DR. SANJEEV KUMAR BALYAN) (a) to (f): During the year 2015-16, Karnataka (both for Kharif and Rabi), Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telengana, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand and Rajasthan, had submitted Memoranda seeking financial assistance from National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF) in the wake of drought. On receipt of such memoranda, Government of India constituted Inter-Ministerial Central Teams(IMCTs) to visit the drought affected areas of these States for an assessment of the requirement for the quantum of financial assistance. Sub-Committee of National Executive Committees (SC-NECs) considered the IMCT Reports and referred recommendations for consideration of High Level Committee(HLC) under Ministry of Home Affairs. The State-wise details regarding the amounts demanded from the NDRF by the State Governments, recommendation of IMCTs, SC-NECs, amounts approved by HLCs and amount released by Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance are at Annexure. After approval of quantum of financial assistance by the Govt. of India, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh submitted revised demand requesting for release of Rs.2344.99 crore (as against earlier demand of Rs. 2217.08 crore) and Rs.5114.53 crore (as against earlier demand of Rs.4821.64 crore) respectively from NDRF.
