General Site Conditions: Temporary address numbers shall be securely posted and legible from the street prior to the first inspection and be maintained for the duration of construction. Permanent address numbers must be of contrasting color to the background and in conformance with City Code. All jobsite debris shall be contained on site and in a dumpster or fenced area. Refer to handout regarding screening, landscaping and erosion control requirements.

Approved plans and a copy of this letter shall be kept on site. See inspection record for a list of all required inspections. No significant work shall begin prior to 7 am. A rock construction entrance is required from curb or road to a minimum of 20 into the construction site. Contractor shall be responsible for daily clean up of any soil tracked into street. Silt fence shall be installed at all disturbed grade and where spoil piles are within 20 of the road way. Silt fence must be dug into ground a minimum of 6 inches.

Footing/ Foundation: Verify property lines at footing inspection, see survey for setbacks. All trench, pad footings and thickened slabs shall be excavated and required reinforcing supported in place for inspection. Foundation drainage installed in accordance with R405.1 must discharge to the exterior through rigid piping. Provide an electrical outlet for sump pump installation. Clarify foundation insulation location and R value. Both interior and exterior foundation options are shown. Foundation insulation must conform to MN Rules chapter 1322; 1102.2.6.1 Foundation Insulation.

Building Planning: Verify safety glazing in all hazardous locations as specified by R308. Interior and exterior stairway illumination shall be installed as required by R303.4. Smoke alarms are required in all sleeping rooms and each level, additionally; Carbon Monoxide alarms must be installed within 10 feet of all sleeping rooms.

Framing/ Flashing: All truss connections and required bearing support shall be specified by building designer. Provide a copy of certified truss specifications at least 1 week prior to scheduling framing inspection. Fireblocking is required at all concealed framed spaces specified by R 602.8, verify at framing inspection. Specify wall bracing in accordance with R602.10. Garage front requires specific framing details which need to be approved prior to construction. Attic access is to be located above clear floor area.

All fasteners in contact with pressure preservative treated wood shall be hot-dipped galvanized steel or of other approved corrosion resistance. Provide an approved weather resistive barrier at all exterior walls, separate inspection is required. A Lath and Flashing inspection is required for veneer stone finishes. Installations shall conform to the 2006 Minnesota Residential Code and the 2003 Minnesota Lath and Plaster Bureau publication Stucco in Residential Construction. Corrosion resistant flashing is required at the top of all window and door openings, roof and wall intersections and all other areas specified by R703.8.

Plumbing/ Mechanical: Bathrooms and toilet rooms without natural ventilation are required to have mechanical ventilation. Verify minimum clearances at sides and in front of water closets as specified by MSPC 4715.1200. Provide plumbing access panels as required by MSPC 4715.0900.

Energy Code/ Radon/Flashing: Specify product used as sealant required at intersection of basement floor and foundation wall. Provide details of exhaust only ventilation system regarding exhaust capacity at the point of discharge, verify capability to operate continuously, sone rating, location of required fan and controls. All outdoor air intake and exhaust air outlets shall be labeled in accordance with the Minnesota Residential Code; 1322 1104.4.11. Interior air barrier shall be maintained around all rough openings. See 1322 section 1102.4.1.

Prior to Occupancy: Verify wind load rating of overhead door in garage. No use or occupancy is allowed prior to issuance of Certificate Of Occupancy

Is the roof on? Is weather resistive barrier installed? Separate inspection? Are all rough in inspections completed? Electrical sticker? Inspection record posted? Signed off for mechanical and plumbing? Radon? Sub slab?

Draftstopping R502.12 when there is usable space both above and below the concealed space of a floor/ceiling assembly, draftstops shall be installed so that the area of the concealed space does not exceed 1000 sq ft.
