[08] [Fuel Management in tank farms and terminals] Serial Rail Car Loading For rail car loading systems, offers the full scope from consulting and detail engineering to the manufacturing of the loading systems and final commissioning. has the proven engineering competence (Basic and detail) for planning rail car loading applications. Scope of supply: Complete range of loading arms for the bulk fluid transfer of hazardous liquids, sizes from 2 to 6. skid mounted metering systems for custody transfer, complete control systems and pump systems from one source Available for loading products with temperatures up to + 280 C. s engineering covers any individual requirements of existing and future installations. rail car loading systems offer low cost of ownership. They are designed and field-proven for heavy-duty applications. Due to s engineering capability, these systems are designed to fit exactly the individual requirements of the given installation. rail car system have been field proven in rough day-today operation over many years also in extreme climates.
[09] [Fuel Management in tank farms and terminals] On Spot Rail Car Loading On-spot loading systems for rail cars offer high speed loading processes, using hi-tech and field proven telescopic loading arm technology. The on-spot technology is based on a sequential loading of a coupled train with a variety of products. offers this technology with a long list of reference installations on an international scale. Highlights of this technology: high level of automation, thus reducing required operational personnel simultaneous loading of several rail cars per rail track up to 20.000 tons per day using several rail tracks high flow rates resulting in short loading times multi-product loading capability through one loading arm optimum vapor return technology for high-level environmental protection The on-spot loading arm is a hydraulically driven telescopic design on-spot loading systems offer high speed loading of entire rail car trains.
[10] [Fuel Management in tank farms and terminals] Barge/Ship Loading offers barge and ship loading systems that take special account of specific marine loading requirements. also supply bunker blending skids both for on-shore and off-shore applications, using the MFX_4 as a Blending Controller. Large meter runs and marine loading arms for ship loading jetty Barge loading on a riverside terminal Metering Skid for offshore Bunker Blending project
[11] [Fuel Management in tank farms and terminals] Access Control Systems In today s oil terminals, access control is a major issue when it comes to operational safety and general security issues. supplies access control technology that is specially designed for hazardous areas and offers latest technology by using proximity card reading, fingerprint recognition and fully automatic video nameplate recognition of trucks. These systems seamlessly integrate into automation systems and are field proven in day-to-day rough operation in many tank farms and terminals. COTAS Security Module in tough day-to-day operation located at terminal entry Nameplate recognition for automatic truck identification as part of the COTAS system The COTAS Security Module includes Wiegand/RFID card reader, Human Machine interface and optional fingerprint recognition
[12] [Fuel Management in tank farms and terminals] Additivation When several oil companies jointly use the capacity of one tank farm, the injection of additives during the loading process is of growing importance. offers two different technologies for Additive Injection Systems: CBU Single The CBU Single controls each additive separately, thus ensuring absolute separation of the different additives inside the unit. The CBU Single can optionally either be controlled by an external [i.e. the MFX_4] or by its own additive controller. CBU Single: all additives controlled separately CBU Combined The CBU Combined offers up to 10 additives controlled in one single block an is controlled by an external additive controller [i.e. the MFX_4]. CBU: all additives controlled in one block
[13] [Fuel Management in tank farms and terminals] Bio Fuel Blending More and more, bio fuel is used in addition to fossile fuels to reduce the dependance on its limited resources. offers field proven blending systems specifically designed for bio fuel applications. There are several ways to blend bio fuels in loading terminals: Bio fuel blending during product reception [storage] Bio fuel blending in the header line for dispatching Bio Fuel Blending from tank to tank Bio fuel blending at loading position into truck, railcar or barge Application Examples
[14] [Fuel Management in tank farms and terminals] COTAS Terminal Automation System s PC-based COTAS loading computer system coordinates all system modules in the tank farm, from product reception and inventory control to product delivery. It is connected with all the instrumentation in the field and controls the loading processes. Trucks are identified straight away upon entering the farm and allocated to the appropriate filling station via a waiting zone. The complete loading process is monitored in the control room by the COTAS system and if desired can be shown on screen. Upon leaving the tank farm, the truck driver receives a delivery note and the commercial data is transmitted to a host system (e.g. SAP). COTAS loading computer systems are scalable and can be used in both small and very large tank farms. The quantity balancing in the tank farm is client-related and is achieved via data-base-supported management of the tank farm. COTAS is also connected with the tank level gauging system and supplies the current quantities in the entire tank farm at all times. All relevant customer and truck data is stored in a database, which is based on a client/server structure (e.g. Oracle) depending on the size of the entire system. COTAS covers all processes in a terminal like product reception from pipeline, inventory control and loading i.e. into trucks.
[15] [Fuel Management in tank farms and terminals] Modularity The program structure of COTAS is modular. All function modules are individually selectable and will be configured upon the cutomer s individual requirements. Alongside with future changes in the terminal s functions, it is possible to include additional functions in COTAS at any time. Every COTAS installation is tailor made to the extent that only the required system functions are included. This avoids irritation for the operative staff and simplifies both training and operation efforts. As a true logistics management system, COTAS also controls the traffic in the terminal, from the entrance to a waiting zone, then to the loading bays and finally to the exit.
