Calcined Petroleum Coke for Graphite Electrodes 1).Graphite electrode production takes Calcined Petroleum Coke, needle coke as its main material and coal pitch as its binder, goes through the process of crushing, blending, kneading, forming, baking, graphitizing and machining, which is the main conductor and medium to release electrical arc to smelting the furnace charges. Therefore, its production requires high quality of CPC which should be low in sulpur, phosphorus, ash and volatile matters and be high in conductivity and density. Anode Grade CPC The anodes used in aluminum smelter are made from calcined petroleum coke (CPC) and coal tar pitch. Acme Carbon is a leading supplier of CPC to domestic and overseas aluminum industry. CPC quality directly influences anode quality and life circle. All the smelters set strict specifications for critical quality parameters such as sulfur and trace metal impurities (vanadium, nickel, calcium, iron, silicon, and sodium). Isostatic Graphite Isotropic graphite (Fine grain big size, isotropic graphite) is produced by isostatic compaction technology, it has not only all properties of high purity graphite, but also has good isotropism, which will not be affected by its dimension, shape and sampling orientation; its structure is homogeneous, fine and close with high mechanical strength, strong oxidation resistance capacity and Good machining property, and so on. Its consumption is only 1/3~1/5 of copper material when it is used as EDM electrodes.
