E- Music Building June 7, 2009 Scope: This project is comprised of four buildings two new buildings and two buildings that will be renovated. The Performing Arts building, the main building, will be a threestory structure. Including an art complex, digital media labs, photo studio, dance studio, and post-production lab, art studio, audio lab, interior design lab, lecture rooms, and faculty offices, this structure will be 46,000 sq. ft. Additionally, there will be a 5,500 sq. ft. one-story music rehearsal building constructed. This will include instrumental and choral rooms. The two existing buildings will be renovated and modernized into a Ceramics lab and Fashion Art Studio. Status: At the Performing Arts Building, ProWest Constructors has poured the upper level slab and the mechanical equipment pads. The installation of the roof structural steel is complete. Interior framing and installation of electrical, plumbing and HVAC has begun in the lower level and main level. Interior framing at the upper level has begun. Drywall installation has begun at the lower level. Exterior scaffolding has been erected at the Performing Arts Building, and exterior framing has begun. Revised Contract: $8,578,070 Contract Start: September 29, 2008 Contract Completion: December 23, 2009 Scope: This project consists of a new 22,000 sq. ft. gymnasium. It will include locker rooms and a snack bar. Status: At the New Gymnasium, EDGE Development, Inc. is continuing installation of the masonry block up to the high roof. Installation of embeds were installed concurrently along the north and south walls. Underpinning at the new elevator on the north/ west end of the existing gym has been completed. Following this activity, rebar was set and concrete was poured for the elevator tower footings and masonry block installation for the elevator tower being set. The interior building activities consisted of the plumber installing trench drains and water closet carriers. 1. Exterior rendering of the building. 2. Status: The project is in the maintenance period at both sites with the grass beginning to appear healthy and close to being mowed and then ready for turn over and acceptance by the Grounds Department. HMC Architects has received comments for Access and Structural from DSA, but are awaiting Fire Life Safety comments, which are expected by the end of May 2009.
