How it Works Foam-in-place polyurethane is molded in real-time by combining two liquid foams in a pre-fabricated mold, high density polyethylene (HDPE) bag or film. For example, two 55-gallon drums turn into the equivalent of a 53-ft tractor-trailer load of protective packaging material. Included with each machine at no additional charge, IntelliPack TELEMETRY and BAR-CODING define next-generation technology by helping companies run their packaging function better, smarter. Only IntelliPack brand foam-in-place systems offer this capability. TELEMETRY Telemetry is one of the smart features available on IntelliPack foam-in-place packaging systems. It is designed to help customers: Increase productivity; Optimize equipment performance; and Stay steps ahead of unexpected problems or costly downtime In other words, it s like having a dedicated service technician on site, around the clock. IntelliPack s telemetry automatically collects, monitors and measures critical information, such as liquid foam and film usage, temperature, pressure and other system parameters each time the equipment is operated. With IntelliPack s telemetry, your system performs daily diagnostic testing to ensure that the machine stays up and running. Your IntelliPack service technician will customize control boundaries for your foam-in-place system based on the frequency and equipment use profile. If a potential problem is detected, your foam-in-place system will automatically contact an IntelliPack service tech. In order to view reports on consumables consumption and other variable statistics associated with your IntelliPack equipment, simply log onto an internet-based, password-protected account. Daily and monthly reports on systems diagnostics, foam and film use are all available at the push of a button. The process is simple, automatic and ensures your products are protected with the right amount of liquid foam and film every time: Your IntelliPack sales and service team will work with you to develop an optimal pack-out for each diverse product you are packaging and assign an individual bar code to it. Your foam-in-place system will then be programmed with the bar code data and associated pack-out requirements for all of your products. (This information tells your system the exact amount of liquid foam and film required to properly package each specific product.) During the packaging process, operators simply scan the bar code label (for the specific product) using a hand wand. The IntelliPack system automatically dispenses the precise amount of liquid foam and film needed. Preventative maintenance Your foam-in-place system automatically contacts an IntelliPack service technician for maintenance or troubleshooting. Quick to produce and reliable, these SmartTRAX pads are ideally used as a bottom cushion for heavy objects. IntelliPack SmartCUSHION system Produce variegated cushions fast! The SmartCushion system is automatic and requires no operator. A built-in sensor stops equipment in the event of a jam. Cushions are convenient for use in conjunction with corrugate shippers as a bottom, side or top layer in void fill, cushioning and interleaving applications. Ideal for medium- to high-volume uses, cushion thicknesses range from 0.5- to 3.0-inches and are produced at up to 20 per minute.
