Construction, operation or decommissioning of the Project involving actions, which will cause physical changes in the locality (topography, land use, changes in water bodies, etc.) Details thereof (with S.. Information/Checklist / approximate quantities /rates, wherever possible) with source of information data 1.1 Permanent or temporary change The Special Economic Zone in land use, land cover or (SEZ) in Atchutapuram, topography including increase in Visakhapatnam is being intensity of land use (with respect developed by Andhra Pradesh to local land use plan) Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC). Rain Calciner Limited s proposed project will be one of the units within this SEZ. A land of 43.38 Acres (17.5 Hectares) has been allotted for the project. 1.2 Clearance of existing land, ne vegetation and buildings? 1.3 Creation of new land uses? About 43.38 Acres (17.5

1.4 Pre-construction investigations e.g. bore houses, soil testing? Hectares) in identified Special Economic Zone, meant for Heavy polluting units has been allotted for the project and this is converted into Industrial area. Engineering properties of the soil will be tested for structural design 1.5 Construction works? All the necessary infrastructural facilities along with the calcination plant will be installed 1.6 Demolition works? ne 1.7 Temporary sites used for construction works or housing of construction workers? 1.8 Above ground buildings, structures or earthworks including linear structures, cut and fill or excavations 1.9 Underground works including During the construction stage, temporary site offices, accommodation for construction workers will be located within the premises. All the structures will be located above the ground and the construction activity does not involve much cut and fill activity ne mining or tunneling? 1.10 Reclamation works? ne 1.11 Dredging? ne 1.12 Offshore structures? ne 1.13 Production and manufacturing processes? The proposed Calcination process is based on Pot (Shaft) Calciner technology. Process Technology shall be obtained from a World renowned Agency. Green petroleum coke is conveyed from the raw material storage / unloading hoppers via belt conveyers to day bins feeding the coke to Pot Calciners for calcining. A part of the calcined coke is returned and mixed with input GPC depending on process parameters as well as required quality of CPC. Green coke in the pot calciner is indirectly heated up to around 1250 C by high temperature fume in the flue in order to

remove moisture and volatiles efficiently, improve real density, electrical conductivity and mechanical strength. Volatiles evolved during the process are introduced to the flue for complete combustion with the pre-heated air without any external fuel. CPC from pot calciner is indirectly cooled in chute with water jacket and is discharged at regular intervals. Part of the discharged CPC is diverted for mixing with the input GPC and major part of CPC is conveyed to calcined coke storage. CPC is dispatched from the plant in Bulk. Bag filter units are provided at all locations of GPC / CPC transfer to suppress the dust. 1.14 Facilities for storage of goods or materials? 1.15 Facilities for treatment or disposal of solid waste or liquid effluents? 1.16 Facilities for long term housing of operational workers? 1.17 New road, rail or sea traffic during construction or operation? The flue gases pass through the Waste Heat Recovery Boiler (WHRB) where steam is generated. The exit gases from the WHRB are vented to atmosphere through a stack. A Stand-bye Bye pass stack shall also be included in the Design. Required space has been considered in the layout for storage of Raw Material / Finished goods and also for the stores facility. ne Well established towns with good public transport facilities are available in not far-off locations. SEZ is being developed by Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) as a MULTI PRODUCT Manufacturing facility, housing

1.18 New road, rail, air waterborne or other transport infrastructure including new or altered routes and stations, ports, airports etc? 1.19 Closure or diversion of existing transport routes or infrastructure leading to changes in traffic movements? 1.20 New or diverted transmission lines or pipelines? 1.21 Impoundment, damming, culverting, realignment or other changes to the hydrology of watercourses or aquifers? many Industries. APIIC has established Industries by prospective Unit Owners. APIIC provides basic infrastructure amenities like Industrial/ Potable water / communication / Roads and other common facilities All infrastructures were already developed in the zone. ne ne ne 1.22 Stream crossings? ne 1.23 Abstraction or transfers of water ne from ground or surface waters? 1.24 Changes in water bodies or the land surface affecting drainage or run-off? ne 1.25 Transport of personnel or materials for construction, operation or decommissioning? Personnel will be transported to site in vehicles. Similarly, GPC has to be sourced from refineries that produce sponge Anode Grade Coke. Thus, GPC will be imported from reliable suppliers to meet the stringent quality standards and will be moved into the zone 1.26 Long-term dismantling or decommissioning or restoration works? 1.27 Ongoing activity during decommissioning which could have an impact on the environment? GPC will be sourced from various refineries mainly in rth America, South America, Middle East and Asia etc. ne ne

1.28 Influx of people to an area in either temporarily or permanently? The manpower requirement for regular operations is estimated to be about 150. During the Construction period, this figure may be higher. Hence influx of people will increase and locals will also be employed. 1.29 Introduction of alien species? ne Loss of native species or genetic ne diversity? 1.31 Any other actions? ne 2. Use of Natural resources for construction or operation of the Project (such as land, water, materials or energy, especially any resources which are nonrenewable or in short supply): S.. SPECIAL REQUEST The proposed project already obtained Environmental Clearance in 2009, vide SEIAA order.. SEIAA/AP/VSP-19/2009 dated 13-02-2009 as per SO 1533 tification dated 14 th September 2006, issued by SEIAA. The project is categorized as Category B project based on the threshold limits published in the tification requiring Environmental Clearance from SEIAA. And also, as it is proposed to be located in the Special Economic Zone identified by the Government Of Andhra Pradesh, (where already other industries exist). The project could not be implemented due to the poor market conditions and prevailing industrial scenario earlier. However, the demand for CPC has significantly increased in the last couple of years. Presently, there is a huge gap in demand and supply of CPC. Rain Calciner would like to utilize this opportunity and set up the proposed facility within an year of getting all necessary clearances. Rain Calciner Limited will be fast track project with a proposed investment of about Rs 200 crores and good employment opportunity which will contribute to the overall development of community around the project. Keeping the above in view, RCI requests the committee to Revalidate the Environmental Clearance for another two years.
