American Legion Park City Pool Glasgow Ky. REPAIR SPECIFICATIONS SECTION I A. DESCRIPTION OF WORK INCLUDED PIPING UPDATE INCLUDED ITEMS: Shop fabricate custom perimeter cover plates. Shop fabricate inlet cover plates as needed. Travel and subsistence to project location. Cut and remove existing gutter rollout for access. Install new 4 PVC manifold within gutter full perimeter. Field fabricate manifold adapter to existing piping. Abandon and plate weld existing inlet fittings. Install cover plates with recessed fastener. Shop fabricate Bullnose sections per original stampings. Weld sections per drawings to extended skimming height (80 0 ) ADA COMPLIANCE INCLUDED ITEMS: Prepare submittal drawings as needed. Shop fabricate 3/16 aluminum baby pool ramp. Travel and subsistence to project location. Install ramp, weld water tight and blend for coatings application. Locate and core deck as needed. Furnish and install flush mount anchor. Furnish and install ADA Compliant lift (Removable). Train Staff on lift operation. Furnish letter of ADA Compliance. B. QUALITY ASSURANCE:
1. The renovation shall be a product of a Pool Contractor regularly engaged in the engineering, fabrication, and erection of swimming pool systems. The Pool Contractor shall provide evidence of at least Ten (10) projects of like magnitude and materials. 2. Any request for approval of a substitute must be in the form of a complete set of engineering drawings, structural calculations, and specifications, prepared specifically for this project by an Engineer registered in this state and be submitted to the Owner not less than ten (10) days prior to bid date. 3. The proposed substitute shall comply with all of the design, performance, and warranty requirements in this section. C. SHOP DRAWINGS: 1. Submit for Owner s approval a minimum set of drawings showing general layout and scope of all work, all sections and details for fabrication and installation, and all items requiring coordination with the work of other trades. 2. Submit in writing with Shop Drawings variations from contract drawings and/or Specifications. Variations so noted shall take precedence over Contract requirements upon Owner's approval of the Shop Drawings. D. POOL WARRANTY: 1. Pool Contractor shall provide a Five year warranty from date of start-up acceptance against defects in workmanship and material for the aluminum pool and piping. a. Warranty excludes damage due to fair wear and tear, deliberate abuse, mechanical damage, vandalism, and defects caused by uncontrolled external pressure. E. ABOVE WARRANTIES ARE EACH SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: 1. Warranties are effective upon receipt of full payment to the Pool Contractor for the total contract amount.
2. Liability is limited to repair in place of defects and does not cover damages due to loss of use, loss of profits, or consequential damages. 3. Pool Contractor must approve any modifications or additions by others to the original pool after renovation. 4. Written notice of defect must be delivered to Pool Contractor within fifteen (15) days of the date defect is discovered. F. GENERAL 1. Pool renovation specified herein, as performed, utilizing materials and procedures outlined below which shall be the basis for technical quality for any other manufacturers requesting consideration of their pool renovation. Refer to Item B, 1-3 above. G. ALUMINUM ALLOYS UTILIZED FOR POOL SYSTEM: 1. Sheet and Plate: 5052-H32 or equivalent 2. Castings: 319-F 3. Extrusions: 6061-T6 4. Piping: Schedule 80 PVC I. POOL COATINGS: 1. Materials shall be high grade specifically designed for preparing and coating aluminum swimming pool. (See attached procedure) 2. Coating shall be white with black markings.
SECTION II RENOVATION SPECIFICATIONS RELATED WORK DESCRIPTION DESCRIPTION The following items of work, which are associated with the swimming pool systems are not the Pool Contractor's responsibility, and are to be provided by other Contractors or by the Owner in accordance with the Specifications outlined herein and details and notations on the Pool Drawings. A. CONSTRUCTION FACILITIES AND TEMPORARY CONTROLS: 1. Provide temporary water at 50 psi minimum pressure for cleaning, rinsing, and testing purposes, and facilities for draining pool. 2. Re-paint areas in pool disturbed by fabrication 3. Provide access to site for Pool Contractor's prefabricated materials. B. PROTECTION: 1. Protect pool immediately after renovation thereof and until startup acceptance, from damage, contamination, spatter, or spillage caused by construction work of other trades. This shall include covering pool with protective materials when necessary and responsibility for prompt repair or corrective measures in the event of damage. C. EXCAVATION AND CONCRETE WORK: 1. Provide all concrete removal, excavation and back-fill removal for pool to filter piping replacement. Work includes any shoring needed to provide a safe environment. Areas of excavation will be delineated by the Pool Contractor.
3. Provide replacement concrete sections as needed per original installation. D. CLOSEOUT: 1. Provide representative at time of start-up to coordinate any final work related to the pool system.
