4 MedMaster M4 Surgical Suite Lighting Achieve High Visual Acuity with Fewer Fixtures Fewer LED luminaires, higher footcandles, lower cost PLUS energy savings: Kenall s MedMaster M4 LED outperforms fluorescent sources even when fewer LED luminaires are used. By switching to Kenall LEDs, you can reduce the number of fixtures needed while still maintaining high visual acuity within the space. In the following photometric layouts, the M4 luminaires even with fewer fixtures meet IES * standards and provide greater light output than fluorescent in all three zones of the surgical suite. MedMaster M4 Surgical Suite Lighting Lighting that Addresses the Latest Surgical Suite Technology Needs MedMaster M4 with Updated Asymmetric Distribution Advanced medical equipment, air handling and power sources now claim ceiling space that lighting used to occupy. The previous commercial standard for asymmetric distribution (2.5 to 5 degrees) may not always be enough, so Kenall has updated the M4SEDI product family to include 7 degree and 10-12 degree distribution options, which provide the opportunity to significantly increase illuminance on the surgical field while also reducing power consumption. 5 Legacy Optics vs. Kenall s Improved Asymmetric Distribution Options Symmetric/asymmetric prismatic lenses designed for fluorescent sources commonly in use increase glare and create lens surface pixelation. Kenall s new M4 symmetric/asymmetric and full asymmetric options add Total Internal Reflection optics working in conjunction with a high-efficiency, diffused lens to provide asymmetry while also maintaining uniform lens appearance. The true 530nm green LED of the M4SEDI-Green Series luminaire provides OR staff with an application-optimized light source that has no transmission loss due to filters. The 530nm saturated green hue creates a balance of light for reading, monitor viewing and surgical procedures. Narrow spectrum green LEDs also provide a more efficient, reliable method of producing light when compared to filtered fluorescent tubes and/or white LEDs. This narrow spectrum, sealed luminaire is IP65 rated and NSF listed, which supports ease of cleanability and helps reduce the spread of pathogens. 100% Wavelength (nm) Visible Light 530 50 0 530nm green LED light significantly reduces monitor glare to allow the medical staff to see clearly without needing to adjust the lights. 400 500 550 Area of Highest Visual Acuity 600 700
