This process includes generating Surrogate Keys and Tracking Data Lineage. Central Data Warehouse: This is a 3NF, subject oriented, central store which maintains detailed, integrated data over time. Majority of business rule heavy lifting is applied to the loading of this central store to provide the business common view of data. Factory and Data Marts: Process of applying functional/business specific reporting rules to data and loading Data Marts. This includes formatting data structures for different access methods/tools, aggregations and building cubes. Presentation: Single entry point to various reporting tools, including ability to access service layers exposed by Data Marts, Central DW, ODS and OLTP systems.
