ILM Level 7 QUALIFICATIONS Certificate and Diploma in Leadership and Management THE QUALIFICATIONS The ILM Level 7 Certificate and Diploma in Leadership and Management are among the ILM s most senior qualifications. They are designed for practising and aspiring senior managers and leaders who wish to develop their professional capability and personal brand. They will be looking to make the best use of resources and understand the need to optimise their organisation s performance. They may also have to present arguments for change, construct business cases, lead change and evaluate its impact. THE COURSES North West Employers are very pleased to be able to offer these qualifications by distance learning. Recognising the busy schedule of senior managers and the needs of their employers, the courses have been designed by our team (all of whom are highly experienced leadership and management coaches) to provide a flexible, customised learning solution. The Certificate in Leadership and Management consists of one, flexible mandatory unit that allows students to identify and work on the areas of leadership and management specific to their own work context and career path. Their work will focus on ways in which effective leadership and management skills can make a real difference to their organisation and to them as a senior manager. The Diploma in Leadership and Management consists of two additional units. The first focuses on presenting arguments for change, constructing business cases and leading change implementation. The second focuses on creating and maintaining a high performance culture. Learning activities for both blend theory and practice in order to achieve lasting impacts for both the organisation and the student. Both courses are delivered through a blend of executive coaching an work based learning, designed to develop real impacts. Learning will evolve, drawing on both structured on-line learning and a large library of materials, provided by both ILM and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). They can provide students with up to 60 credits at Level 7. These credits are equivalent to a PG Certificate and one third of a Masters in most university business schools. They can be used as a stepping stone into advanced entry into Masters level qualifications. The Academy of Leadership & Management can facilitate advanced entry to MSc and MBA qualifications e.g. the MBA Global Online at Edinburgh Napier University. For more details, contact us directly. PROGRAMME CONTENT The Certificate consists of one unit. The Diploma consists of three units. All are designed around the units of the qualifications: UNIT 1 Developing leadership and management capability Certificate & Diploma Applying an enquiry-based learning approach to developing leadership and management capability, including: Identifying a live leadership and management opportunity or issue within the organisation Undertaking a data-driven project based on this issue Evaluating the outcomes and impacts of the project What our Level 7 students say about our courses After completing the course not only do I feel more confident in my decision making but I am able to back up what I instinctively know is the right choice with well thought through arguments and academic understanding The planning and organisation of the course was very detailed. DIPLOMA Developing a high-level business case Diploma only Developing a high-level business case for improvement that is aligned with the organisation s strategic objectives and other planned improvements, including: Understanding the strategic context for change in order to identify a high level business case Being able to generate and evaluate viable options and apply decision making techniques Understanding how to manage the high level business case to the desired business outcomes Developing and maintaining a high-performance culture and optimising resources Diploma only Developing the management of resources to optimise performance and the maintenance of a high performance culture, including: Understanding how to assess and benchmark performance Because the assignments were very practical and analysed my immediate work situations, I was able to apply theory into practice straight away and implement recommendations and improvements, which had a great impact on my results at work and my confidence in my own abilities. I received excellent support from the tutor who was challenging my way of thinking in the right way to motivate me and keep me on my toes. The tutorials were really enjoyable and super helpful so I was always looking forward to them. I received very useful and constructive feedback and my coach also coached me through some important professional decisions. I would definitely recommend studying with the Academy of Leadership and Management. The blended learning of online resources and monthly skype conversations has proven to be more flexible and possibly even better than a classroom. Great course, great team - highly recommended to anyone. The course provided extensive insights into the full range of leadership attributes, and helped establish a real and practical sense of how to further my career dynamically and positively Undertaking a distance learning qualification in Leadership and Management meant I could fit my full time job around some targeted CPD. The programme was flexible with regards to timings, but a clear set of deadlines meant I could plan for the submissions around my work schedule. The course itself has been transformational for me and has enabled me to work to a higher potential. Course fees are 1,795 including VAT. The Level 7 Diploma in Leadership & Management can normally be completed within 12 months, again timescales can be adjusted to suit individual needs. Course fees are 2,995 including VAT. Course start dates are agreed between individual students and our Learner Management team.
