External Wall Insulation Systems GUARANTEED TO PERFORM!

External Wall Insulation Systems The wrap-around solution for warmer homes, lower bills Soaring energy costs have brought the need for more effective insulation solutions sharply into focus. Government initiatives including Green Deal & ECO provide assistance towards energy saving measures including external walls which are the single most significant source of wasted energy. External walls are the key contributor to energy loss accounting for up to 45 per cent of heat loss from domestic properties. These walls are energy inefficient with expensive heat and energy literally disappearing through the walls into thin air! Hard to treat properties comprising of narrow cavities and solid wall construction, typical of the pre and post-war years, and the more traditional standard cavities can easily be improved to provide thermal performance benefits. Benefits of insulating your walls Think of PAREXTHERM EWI as wrapping the building in a nice warm blanket and providing an extra energy-efficient layer of insulation designed to prevent heat loss, create a warmer, more comfortable environment within the home, a better looking exterior and the added benefit of reduced energy costs. Reduced energy use not only means lower fuel bills, but also a reduction in the carbon footprint of the home by reducing energy demand and cutting CO² emissions. PAREXTHERM EWI systems offer a selection of approved insulation materials with a choice of advanced render types and finishes to create new homes that are efficient, look good and could increase property property values. In addition to the thermal gain that PAREXTHERM systems achieve, the ever-present risks of condensation and mould growth are significantly reduced. A healthier building fabric, much improved living conditions and health benefits are all subsequent positive outcomes. PAREXTHERM External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems, provide the cost-effective solution not only to significantly reduce heat loss through the external envelope, but also upgrading the appearance and appeal of the property.

Parex EWI Systems - Giving you CHOICE Parex EWI Systems bring together the company s expertise in developing easy-toapply, advanced renders combined with leading makes and types of high quality insulation to conserve energy and stem heat loss. PAREXTHERM Mineral, Dash and Acrylic render finishes display excellent properties, are resistant to impact, providing aesthetically-pleasing high performance finishes. Parex uses only the highest quality materials in its products which have been formulated to provide many years maintenance-free life. The finishes are through-coloured which means they don t need painting and are available in a broad choice of hues to match or complement the local vernacular. PAREXTHERM Brick Slip systems, provide the benefits of using real bricks or our Advanced Masonry System to match the original façade and provide the thermal upgrade needed to meet the new standards. PAREXTHERM EWI render finishes, combined with proven and accredited expanded polystyrene (EPS), mineral wool or phenolic insulation hold full ETAG or BBA approvals and easily achieve the U-Values required to meet the latest and all forthcoming Part L (Conservation of fuel and power) Building Regulations. PAREXTHERM Mineral Render Systems A specially formulated mineral based render, with faster setting times, ideal for the UK climate where wet weather application performance is paramount. Providing a unique opportunity in flexibility of design, the finish retains the traditional appearance of a typical render facade, with the advantage of the polymer modified base coat technology. The system is available in a range of 48 standard colours, bespoke colour options and can be finished in a range of textures. acrylic finish dash finish mineral finish Need to create a brickwork finish and decorative features to match your existing home then contact Parex for further advise and information

INSULATION TYPE - Key Features For retro-fitting applications the Building Regulations give a minimum U Value of 0.30W/m 2 K. Domestic new build is currently 0.26W/m 2 K with forth coming changes reducing this to 0.20W/m 2 K. The U value is a measure of how quickly heat escapes through a structure to the outside and as a result, how much carbon is leaking through the walls too. A U value is a measurement given to the thermal insulation qualities of a wall, floor or roof, where the lower the figure the better the thermal performance, leading to reduced energy bills, which also helps in reducing the use of precious resources. Simply put, the thicker the insulation you can add to your building, the better the wall, floor or roof will perform and more energy is saved. Graphite Expanded Polystyrene EPS Insulation Phenolic Insulation Mineral Wool Insulation The render has been removed for clarity. Mechanical fixings must also be used with Phenolic and Mineral Wool insulations due to the properties of the insulation. Graphite Expanded Polystyrene EPS The primary insulation used in EWI applications Ideally suited for bonded only applications Highly resistant to moisture, maintaining its thermal performance at all times Detailing can be cut into the insulation. Cills, headers and other feature details can be easily created to replicate the original design and enhance the look of the structure To meet the minimum retrofit Building Regulation requirement, the minimum insulation thickness generally required is 90mm Phenolic Insulation Excellent thermal performance with the best thermal characteristics of all the insulations Ideally suited where space is at a minimum due to the reduced thickness of insulation required Bonded and mechanically fixed solutions only To meet the minimum retrofit Building Regulation requirement, the minimum insulation thickness generally required is 60mm Mineral Wool Excellent breathability due to the nature of the mineral wool. Fire resistant, non-combustible and classified to A1. ideal for multioccupancy building and high rise structures Compared to the other insulations, mineral wool can provide better acoustic performance of the wall and may reduce the effect of external noise entering the building Bonded and mechanically fixed solutions only To meet the minimum retrofit Building Regulation requirement, the minimum insulation thickness generally required is 110mm

External Wall Insulation Systems Helping to achieve energy efficiency standards The energy efficiency initiatives and incentives available allow older, domestic and commercial properties to be upgraded at reduced costs or no initial cost to the owners, with a range of financial initiatives for improvements available. For new build construction the energy efficient measures are generally incorporated as part of the build programme. PAREXTHERM EWI Systems improve insulation and thermal efficiency to and significantly beyond the current required standards, providing a high performance and aesthetically pleasing finish. As an INCA Insulated Render & Cladding Association Approved System Designer member, Parex is able to offer a flexible choice of solutions for insulation upgrades to a range of properties and construction types. System Designer membership of INCA confirms that Parex meets the quality standards demanded under the European Guidelines for the applications of EWI. PAREXTHERM systems meet all the key criteria and requirements of the Government s Green Deal and ECO initiatives with the added benefit of insurance-based guarantees with the addition of Green Deal Installer status. The PAREXTHERM systems hold either the British Board of Agrement (BBA) or European Technical Approvals (ETA) which are necessary for compliance with the new thermal performance regulations. These accreditations also ensure that PAREXTHERM systems meet the performance criteria required by Ofgem the Office for Gas and Electricity Markets necessary for the energy companies to provide funding for external insulation upgrades. Ref No: 10/4725 Parex works with a number of funding partners who can help to obtain funding providers or major utility companies and can help to obtain funding support. Access to this facility and funding is dependent upon project size, scale and carbon saving. Parex does not take any element of this funding but can assist in facilitating the funding / offer arrangements. The Green Deal and ECO initiatives also offer all-round support for energy saving through other measures such as improvements to heating, lighting, draught-proofing, double glazing and the use of solar panels or wind turbines.
