Energy Institute head trainers: Trevor Floyd Trevor has been a self employed trainer and energy consultant for almost 20 years, and has worked with the Energy Institute since 2003. He is vastly experienced within the industry and is an author of many energy related publications, including the recent ISO 50001 energy standard. He has also spoken at, and chaired, many conferences around the world. His main areas of work are training, energy auditing, solution development and standards accreditation. He is a Chartered Energy and Marine Engineer as well as being a Registered Low Carbon Consultant, an Assessor for the Carbon Trust Standard and a Verifier for the Emissions Trading Scheme. Martin Fry Martin Fry is a Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor at City University in London as well as being council member the Energy Institute and chairman of ESTA. He is also the UK lead expert for input to the rapidly developing programme of European and International Energy Management Standards, working with the Energy Institute, ESTA, the British Standards Institute and the Carbon Trust. Along with Trevor he has helped to develop the new ISO 50001 standard. Energy Institute Certificate in Energy Management Essentials Complete an introductory qualification designed to give participants an overview in the fundamentals of energy management. The course includes participation in five days of energy management workshops, taking place over the space of one week. Held in London and around the UK, this course will allow students to gain a professional qualification, proving their ability to complete essential energy management tasks. Delegates will be assessed by taking an exam at the end of the week, testing their ability to apply the information gained, and will receive the Energy Institute Certificate in Energy Management Essentials on successful completion. The Certificate in Energy Management Essentials includes: 5 days of training led by the Energy Institute s expert trainer, Trevor Floyd Electronic support material, including an extensive catalogued collection of good practice guides etc A course pack of slides for each presentation A tutor led tour of a plant room, helping to demonstrate energy auditing in practice Exam and coursework based assessment, leading to the Certificate in Energy Management Essentials Student Profile This course is aimed at professionals who have recently taken up a role with energy management responsibilities, or any responsibility for energy costs and want a practical introduction to the subject. Student profile This programme is accessible and comprehensive, designed for anyone who is aiming to learn more about energy management or is responsible for energy usage within their organisation. The only David Lively MEI, is an Estates Officer at a large acute Teaching Hospital in the midlands area and Affiliate Member of the Energy Institute since 2003: I chose to study this course in order to broaden my knowledge within the energy field. Part of the training was to complete a project on a chosen subject; enabling me to identify the key areas where energy costs and carbon dioxide emissions could be saved. I enjoyed completing the TEMOL course and project, which definitely taught me methods to broaden my knowledge in energy management. It also gave me the opportunity to enhance my skills in report writing. Once I had completed the project I was left with a feeling of pride and a job well done. I looked forward to presenting my work to my manager and endeavoured to put into practice the recommendations for major energy savings identified whilst completing my project (which were in the region of 60k, grossing a reduction of some 2,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions!). European energy manager qualification Eurem is designed as a comprehensive technical overview of energymanagement, providing participants with the tools to develop and manage energy management projects. It comprises 12 days of training at the Energy Institute head office. Attendance on the course is backed up by practical application of the learning through a work-based feasibility study which is then supplemented by an exam.
