PRODUKT SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENT CONDITIONS 2. DEFINITIONS AND HEADINGS 2.1 Section breakdowns in this document refer to the same section in our conditions, DHL s assignment conditions. Conditions under the sub-heading DHL STYCKE are applicable only for assignments regarding DHL STYCKE. Conditions under the sub-heading DHL are applicable only for assignments regarding DHL. Conditions under the sub-heading DHL PALL are applicable only for assignments regarding DHL PALL. Conditions under the sub-heading are applicable only for assignments regarding. Separate conditions apply for DHL ECONOMY SELECT and DHL EUROPACK. If there is no sub-heading, the conditions are applicable for all types of assignments. 11. DANGEROUS GOODS AND OTHER GOODS THAT REQUIRE SPECIAL AGREEMENTS Container transports are carried out in accordance with separate agreements. DHL Goods that cannot be sorted by machine are not accepted. Neither are dangerous or temperature sensitive goods, weapons, valuables, (for example art, antiquities, jewels), securities, living or dead animals, corpses, living plants, waste, goods for which legal restrictions apply regarding transport into Sweden, transports to private addresses (however, with exceptions for the standard options, Pre-advice, Night distribution and Goods sent C.O.D., which are accepted to private individuals). 12. SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR TRANSPORT ASSIGNMENTS 12.1 For booking of transports after 10:00 AM with departure the same day, a special fee is charged. DHL PALL, DHL STYCKE, AND DHL For deliveries of goods to private persons there is an extra charge in the form of an obligatory preadvice. Preadvice must be selected under options and accompany the freight information. For additional information see DHL Domestic, Value added services and surcharges. 12.2 DHL PALL, DHL STYCKE, and DHL DHL s assignment in regard to transport includes transport to and from districts covered in DHL s district list. DHL PALL DHL PALL is divided into full and half pallets. A combination of both of these in the same shipment is approved as long as the total shipment does not exceed the area of 3 full pallets. The dimensions for individual full pallets is a maximum of 120 x 80 x 180 cm (l x b x h), in other words, a maximum of 1.73 m3 and may weigh a maximum of 800 kg (actual weight). For individual half pallets, a maximum weight of 400 kg and a maximum dimension of 60 x 80 x 150 cm (l x b x h) applies. In other words a maximum of 0.72 m3. Deviations from the dimensions and weights stated above will result in the goods being handled and charged in accordance with DHL STYCKE. DHL STYCKE Maximum weight per shipment is limited to 2500 kg. For individual parcels, a maximum of 1000 kg (actual weight) applies, alternatively 3.57 m3. The maximum dimensions for shipments less than 50 kg is length 599 cm; width 240 cm and height 220 cm. Shipments over 50 kg have a limit of length 299 cm, width 240 cm and height 220 cm Devia-tions from the dimensions and weights stated above will result in the goods being handled and charged in accordance with. Maximum weight per parcel and shipment is limited by the transport vehicle's carrying capacity and road weight limits. Shipments that contain individual parcels whose dimensions exceed 600 cm in length x 240 in width x 250 in height1 including packaging/pallet or that cannot be handled with a forklift and also can result in concentrated weight in the transport vehicle can only be accepted for transport in accordance with special agreements. DHL The number of parcels per shipment is unlimited. The shipment's chargeable weight (the highest of the actual weight and volumetric weight) is limited to 150 kg or 0.53 m3. For shipments containing 6 or more parcels, there is a additional charge from the 6th parcel. An individual parcel may weigh a maximum of 35 kg (actual weight). The dimensions for every individual parcel is a maximum of 150 x 50 x 50 cm (in other words a maximum of 0.38 m3). Possible deviations from the stated values are adjusted up or down through automatic weight and volume measurements. Rounding up is made to the nearest whole kg and the volume is rounded up by two decimal points. However, the maximum weight applies as stated above. 12.3 Goods shall be packaged or constructed in such a way that they can handle normal shipment handling, transport securing and mechanical sorting as well as not cause damage to other goods. Containers holding liquids shall be packaged with a sufficient amount of absorption materials and also be packaged in packaging in accordance with DHL s packaging instructions. DHL is not responsible for damages that arise due to the absence or deficiency of packaging or other wrapping material. Packaging shall be adapted to the contents. In the event of claims, the original packaging shall be saved. DHL retains the right, when picking up goods, to reject them if the packaging is assessed to be insufficient or incorrect. Transport pallets, in accordance with EUR standard, may be used for: an approved load of no more than 1000 kg Pallet transactions between the sender and recipient are permitted only for assignments regarding shipments within Sweden and only after special agreements in the freight agreement (pallet transfer system, PÖS). Extra fees are applicable if special internal cleaning of the vehicle is required. 12.4 Loading/unloading is done during regular working hours 7:00 AM- 5:00 PM. If a customer requests loading/unloading at an agreed time or within an agreed time interval (also outside regular working hours) there is a supplemental charge. (For more information see DHL Domestic, Value added services and Surcharges.) Loading/unloading is conditional on free traffic and access, necessary height (4,50 m) and longest vehicle length (25.25 m). If this is not the case, the goods will be returned and be reloaded onto another vehicle for which there will be an additional charge (See DHL Domestic, Options and Supplements). Loading/unloading is made from/to a loading dock or ground level at the side of the vehicle. DHL PALL, DHL STYCKE, AND DHL The following time limit applies as standard conditions for loading/unloading from the time that the vehicle is put at the disposal of the sender/recipient. 1-999 kg 20 min 1 000-4 999 kg 30 min 5 000-9 999 kg 40 min 10 000-20 999 kg 50 min 21 000 kg- 60 min If these times are exceeded, a special charge for waiting time is added in accordance with DHL Domestic, Options and Supplements. DHL PALL, DHL STYCKE, AND DHL If an individual item weighs less than 800 kg in actual weight or the item's chargeable weight is less than 4000 kg the driver shall, with the help of the back-plate lift assist so that the loading/unloading can be carried out at the side of the vehicle from/to the dock or ground. When loading/unloading from/to the vehicle s side to/from the ground, the client is responsible to ensure that sender/recipient, upon request by DHL, provides the necessary help resources (on behalf of DHL) if the vehicle lacks a back-plate lift. If the construction of the goods require special loading and unloading assistance in addition toa back-plate lift, hand truck and forklift, the client is responsible to ensure that these are available and is also responsible for possible costs. If an individual parcel weighs more than 800 kg (actual weight), or if the shipment's total chargeable weight exceeds 4000 kg, the client is responsible for ensuring that the sender/recipient provides assistance for loading/unloading. If the construction of the goods requires loading assistance, the client is responsible to ensure that the sender/recipient provides and pays for the necessary equipment and ensure that it is available for loading/unloading. For an additional fee, DHL can participate in obtaining the necessary loading/unloading resources. Loading/unloading shall be carried out by the sender/recipient in accordance with the driver's instructions, whereby the driver will provide the necessary assistance. DELIVERY OBSTACLES DHL PALL, DHL STYCKE, and DHL Additional costs arise if DHL cannot complete the assignment due to, for example: The recipient has not been available at the stated delivery address The recipient does not pay the client's stated C.O.D. charge The recipient refuses to accept the goods Necessary resources are lacking for unloading Access to the collection site is not open Reloading as a result of local traffic regulations or limited access Additional costs for the above are regulated in accordance with DHL Domestic, value added services and surcharges in accordance with a written agreement. The additional charge is charged to the client if the condition is known no later than the time of loading. In other cases the recipient is charged. In the event that the recipient does not agree to pay the supplemental charge it is debited to the client. If, for practical reasons, upon collection of larger volumes of goods, it is not reasonable to check the number of individual items, the purpose of a possible receipt upon collection will be used to confirm that a volume of goods, which approximately totals what is stated in the receipt, has been delivered. Consequently, DHL may, despite the existence of a receipt regarding the volume of goods, assert that there are deviations between the volume of goods stated by the customer and the volume of goods received by DHL. Unless DHL has specifically agreed to provide the loading of goods, the sender is responsible for ensuring the loading of goods in accordance with each respective country's national regulations and also in regard to the loading of Hazardous goods in the transport unit in accordance with applicable transport regulations (ADR/RID/IMDG, etc.). The sender shall also, when so required, issue a freight assurance certificate in accordance with respective transport directives such as Container Packing Certificate CPC for sea transport for the sea route area in question. 12.5 The client is responsible for the submitted information in the transport document as well as costs that arise as a result of incorrect and/or incomplete information. DHL has the right to compensation in the event of incorrectly issued address labels or incorrectly issued freight documents or other documentation that affects the assignment. The client is responsible for ensuring that correct way-bills/transport instructions and address labels are issued for every shipment. The way-bill shall include the following information: Sender's name, street address and customer number Recipient's name, street address, destination of the goods with complementary post code and also country or country code Number of parcels, label/number parcel type Description of goods/type of goods and trade name/special directives from authorities Barcode marking for each product Gross weight and volume including packaging for the goods and transport resources, for example, cargo pallets Freight payment conditions/delivery conditions Possible delivery date/option (in accordance with special agreements) List of attached documents Each parcel shall be equipped with a correct and clearly filled out address label with the delivery address in accordance with national standards for transport labels. DHL PALL, DHL STYCKE AND For each assignment, the sender shall provide a correct and complete SIS way-bill in four parts with the way-bill number clearly written and barcode (Code 39 or Code 128) or other DHL accepted or approved transport document. For EDI-transferred information, a way-bill in two parts complemented with a packing list is sufficient. For shipments with a freight-draft weight less than 2500 kg and where the client has chosen to handle this via a terminal, every parcel included in the shipment shall be equipped with a correct address in accordance with DHL s brochure Guide for way-bills which is available at www.dhl.se. The freight document shall include the following information: Sender information: Company address, sender address, post code and shipment district. Recipient information: Name, delivery address, post code and delivery district. Transport instructions: Parcel and shipment weight, number of parcels in the shipment, for goods between 3 and 12 meters regardless of weight, the goods' length and width shall be stated in cm, shipment identity in clearly written text, the paying client with stated customer number, the selected DHL product, possible options as well as possible handling instructions and delivery directions. Barcode field: Readable barcode that states the shipment identity or parcel identity. Addressing where the barcode states the parcel identity can only be used for shipments where complete shipment information is transferred via EDI or equivalent technology. DHL For each assignment, the sender shall provide either a correct and fully filled-out way-bill for DHL in two parts with a way-bill number that is clearly written and a barcode (Code 39) or another accepted or approved DHL address label in accordance with the separate brochure Guide for way-bills. Address labelling where the barcode states the parcel identity (expressed in code EAN 128) can only be used for shipments where complete shipment information is transferred via EDI or equivalent technology. For EDItransferred shipment information, a packing list shall be attached to the goods. The packing list shall contain the same information as a way-bill. Parcels with an actual weight of more than 25 kg shall be marked with decals or have address labels affixed with a weight symbol. 12.6 DHL PALL, DHL STYCKE, and DHL If nothing else is agreed upon in writing, the price for each respective product shall be in accordance with the published price list. The prices are based on shipment information that is transferred to DHL via EDI, Internet, or PDF (code 417). If this is not the case, there is an additional charge. The price includes the stated services and obligations as per the offer/contract. Other services and obligations are debited by DHL in accordance with DHL Domestic, Options and Supplements and option prices in accordance with a separate price list for DHL or, in absence thereof, in a reasonable amount, including compensation for outlay. DHL STYCKE AND The freight price (net freight plus possible freightrelated supplements) is estimated on a shipment's freight-draft weight including packaging and possible freight accessories. M3 CALCULATION If the weight of the goods is less than: DHL PALL, DHL STYCKE, and DHL : 280 kg/m3 the freight is instead calculated according to shipment volume = shipment's length x width x height expressed in m3 with two decimal points. PALLET PLACE CALCULATION With price agreements regarding price/pallet space (EURpallet) freight calculation is made at a minimum of: DHL STYCKE and : 780 kg/pallet space for loaded pallet (EUR), which is included in special shipments, and has a maximum height of more than 125 cm or, due to the construction of the goods, are not stackable and/or able to be loaded together, freight calculation is done according to a minimum of 1 pallet space whereby the client has usage of the entire vehicle's interior height dimensions. When two or more pallets (EUR) are stackable at a height within the vehicle's interior height, freight calculation is made according to a minimum of 1 pallet space. LOADING METER (FLM) Freight is calculated on goods that cannot be loaded together according to the cargo space the goods require in accordance with: DHL STYCKE and : 1950 kg per FLM CALCULATION OF GOODS WITH A LENGTH EXCEEDING 3 METERS For shipments with an individual item between 3.0 m and 5.99 m with a total shipping weight exceeding 50 kg, and for shipments with an individual bulk between 6.0 and 12.0 m regardless of weight, the freight-draft weight is calculated in accordance with the table below: Width of the goods in cm Kg/lane meter 1-40 cm 325 kg 41-80 cm 650 kg 81-120 cm 975 kg 121-160 cm 1,300 kg 161-240 cm 1,950 kg DHL STYCKE Goods with an actual weight less than 50 kg and a length between 300-599 cm are charged in accordance with the table below: Width of the goods in cm Kg per shipment 1-40 cm 500 kg 41-80 cm 600 kg 81-120 cm 700 kg 121-160 cm 800 kg 161-240 cm 900 kg For additional information see DHL Domestic, value added services and surcharges. Rounding off regulations DHL STYCKE and Chargeable weight is rounded up to the closest kilo for shipments less than 5,000 kg. For chargeable weight from 5,000 kg, an advantage calculation as well as a rounding off upward to the next whole 100-figure kilo is carried out. Rounding off regulations DHL Chargeable weight is rounded up to the next whole kilo. 12.7 Freight Payment The client is responsible for written instructions to the sender/recipient and DHL. The client is responsible for all costs as a result of the recipient or other party failing to make payment, creditworthiness, failure to accept goods or authorities' decisions regarding the goods. Payment for freight shall be made in cash if DHL has not granted credit or payment by invoice, whereby the following freight payment conditions are accepted: Shipments from the sender Shipments from the recipient¹ Other freight payer (in other words, a third party with an association to the client/sender) 1) Conditional on EDI-transferred shipment information in regard to DHL 12.9 DHL transports in accordance with DHL s stated transport time schedule are not to be considered as transports with transport time commitment in accordance with NSAB 2000. Transport with time commitment is only applicable if options G7, G10 or G12 for domestic traffic are agreed upon or if DHL, in the agreement or in an offer to the client, has committed to carry out transport with a time commitment. Consequently, expressed requests or conditions regarding delivery times, for example in the way-bill, are not binding for DHL. The transport schedule for DHL is based on fixed departure and arrival days. Errors in the freight document or equivalent document, or errors in the address label, or insufficient address information for delivery (for example, a box address) involves a deviation from the transport schedule. Reductions in the transport time schedule may arise in connection with weekends/holidays and during vacation periods. Deviations can also arise in connection with Advice, transport of Hazardous goods, Thermo and also goods with deficient or damaged packaging. 17. EDI The client is responsible to ensure that the information that is transferred to DHL with EDI is in accordance with those conditions that are stated in the EDI agreement. For certain shipments, EDI shall be done during normal office hours the same day that the shipment is collected by DHL. DHL will report back within a reasonable amount of time any possible deviations between the stated volume of goods in the EDI file and the volume of goods obtained by DHL. DHL PALL, DHL STYCKE, AND DHL The client is responsible for errors and costs that may arise as a result of insufficient adherence to the EDI agreement. STORAGE OF FREIGHT DOCUMENTS DHL Freight (Sweden) AB applies so-called scanning and electronic storage media for the original way-bill and receipt (Ti and Tu sections respectively). STORAGE ASSIGNMENTS The provisions regarding storage in NSAB 2000 section 27 C do not apply to storage in connection with transport, and only in those cases where storage assignments are specifically agreed upon. DHL is then obligated to carry out an inventory and subscribe to an insurance policy on behalf of the client only to the extent that this is specifically contracted.
