The highly refined additive combination of 40 S ensures that the product is low misting and low fuming thereby improving the working environment. Products for the most demanding applications: Corrosion Prevention Compressor Oils SYNAIR SYNAIR compressor fluids are synthetic based lubricants offering exceptional performance benefits for modern compressor operations. The advanced base materials of the SYNAIR range are tailored to the requirements of a fluid operating under extreme pressure, temperature and load. SYNAIR compressor fluids are suitable for all compressors commonly operating on mineral oil. RENAIR The RENAIR RANGE is recommended for oil lubricated air compressors including rotary screw, reciprocating and certain types of rotary vane. RENAIR compressor oils are blended from carefully selected solvent refined mineral oils. They contain additives to reduce wear and oxidation to therefore allow higher loads, more severe operating conditions and prolonged oil service intervals. ANTICORIT DFW A specialised corrosion inhibitor for long term protection during storage and transport. ANTICORIT DFW contains a combination of film forming and dewatering agents, which ensure rapid water displacement to produce a thin dry wax coating. The light wax based film maximises protection from corrosion and provides long-term water resistance. ANTICORIT DFO ANTICORIT BW366 A specialised corrosion inhibitor with dewatering properties suitable for short to medium term corrosion protection. ANTICORIT DFO contains a unique combination of proprietary components, which rapidly penetrate and displace moisture from metal surfaces to provide a strongly adhered, oil based, corrosion resistant film. A highly concentrated corrosion preventative fluid especially suited to protecting metal components and machinery for long periods of time. In many cases SYNAIR compressor fluids can offer up to twice the operational life to that of a mineral fluid Due to the heavy duty protective characteristics found in ANTICORIT BW366 it is particularly well suited for protection in arduous conditions such as overseas shipping and long term external storage. Greases Cleaners RENOLIT LXEP 2 Excellent multipurpose lithium complex grease containing extreme pressure, anti-corrosion and anti-oxidation additives. RENOLIT LXEP 2 has been specially designed for the lubrication of vehicle bearings and can also be applied for high temperature and long lasting general lubrication applications. RENOLIT LXEP 2 is also recommended for applications where extended greasing intervals are required NLGI 2 RENOLIT EP 2 RENOLIT EP-2 is a multi purpose lithium soap based grease, containing extreme pressure, anti-corrosion and anti-oxidation additives to maximise performance under low to medium temperature applications. RENOLIT EP 2 has good EP properties and protects against corrosion. It has resistance to mechanical shear and is suitable as a multipurpose grease. NLGI 2 CF13 A low foam, alkaline cleaner, developed to clean and provide short term corrosion protection on a variety of metals including, mild steel, cast iron, and aluminium CF 13 is designed for use in all industrial cleaning applications, including spray washing machines and soak tank/ immersion systems. CF 13 will remove light soils such as cutting oils, light corrosion preventatives and lubricating oils whilst depositing a light protective coating on the metal thus cleaning and protecting in the one application. CF 13 offers improved cleaning and corrosion protection performance over conventional process cleaners, and extremely low residues on cleaned parts. ORANGE ORANGE is a quality hand cleaner that has been developed for the effective cleaning of heavily soiled, oily and grease covered hands. ORANGE leaves hands feeling smooth and clean without the greasy feeling that many other cleaners leave behind. The natural citrus, lanolin and coconut oils found in RENO- CLEAN ORANGE help replenish dry cracked skin whilst leaving the skin feeling and smelling refreshed. ORANGE provides a rich creamy lather when worked into the hands. While being gentle on the hands, the beads within ORANGE provides an abrasive aid in the removal of tough oil and grease stains without irritating the skin. RENOLIT GP3 General purpose grease for use in electric motor bearings and high speed applications RENOLIT GP3 is a premium quality lithium base grease, developed specifically for applications encountered in modern industrial environments. This grease is extremely shear stable and does not soften, even after prolonged working. RENOLIT GP 3 can also offer extended greasing intervals. NLGI 3 PARTSWASH PARTSWASH is a solvent based degreasing solution developed to dissolve oil and grease residues. This allows easy removal of contaminants from soiled components. PARTSWASH is suitable for heavy duty degreasing operations where a versatile solvent based cleaner is required. It does not effect any common metals. PARTSWASH can also be used for an industrial partswash where water rinsing is not desirable due to the incidence of flash rusting on parts. PARTSWASH is low in odour, making it pleasant to use. while being insoluble in water. Specifically designed for use in partswash stations. ECOSOLVE DEGREASER ORANGE can be used in all applications where an effective hand cleaner is required, whether it is in a mechanical workshop to an office washroom or even at home. ECOSOLVE is a biodegradable, solvent based, heavy duty degreaser with quick-break properties that is highly effective for removing most soils including dirt, mud, grime, oil and soot. ECOSOLVE has been specially designed to be miscible with water. Spray dispensers have made it particularly well suited to wash bay applications DEGREASER is a solvent based degreasing solution developed to dissolve oil and grease residues. DEGREASER is suitable for heavy duty degreasing operations where a versatile solvent based cleaner is required. It does not effect any common metals and is easily removed by rinsing with cold water. Metalworking Fluids Fuchs Lubricants Metal Working Fluids Metalworking fluids come in a variety of forms, each with different properties essential for a specific application. Fuchs has over 70 year experience providing a full range of industrial and metalworking lubricants to industry. For advice on the selection of the best fluid for your application, please contact your Fuchs sales representative. Selecting the Correct Metalworking Fluid Deciding the correct fluid for an application is not straightforward, as many factors will affect product selection. These include: Material Operation Coolant System Safety Environment As a general rule, low speeds and heavy cuts require the use of neat oils, whereas operations involving high speeds and light cuts require cooling. These applications are best served by water miscible fluids. One of the most cost effective EP additives currently in use is chlorinated paraffin. This type of compound is being increasingly replaced by chlorine free alternatives due to environmental concerns over their disposal. Fuchs is a specialists in the development of metalworking fluids, and offers a complete range of both chlorinated and chlorine-free products suitable for all metals and machining operations. Neat Metalworking Fluids Neat metalworking fluids are generally blends of mineral oil and additives. As neat metal working fluids are not diluted with water they offer a greater suitability for arduous tasks. However considerations must be made as to their reduced cooling capabilities compared to the water miscible cutting fluids. Products for the most demanding applications: Water Miscible Cutting Fluids Water miscible cutting fluids generally contain all of the ingredients of a neat cutting fluid but as these products are designed for use diluted with water, they also contain corrosion inhibitors, biocides and emulsifying agents. Some water miscible cutting fluids are mineral oil free, and these are generally known as synthetic products. Water miscible cutting fluids are designed for use where maximum cooling effect is required. As they are typically used at concentrations of 10% or lower, the amount of additive in the working product is naturally less than that contained in a neat cutting fluid. Therefore, these products are more usually employed in areas of high speeds and light cuts. For jobs involving both high speeds and heavy cuts, water miscible fluids compounded with EP additives are used. Selection of a water miscible cutting fluid is similar to the selecting a neat cutting fluid, however other factors such as water quality, emulsion clarity and foaming characteristics of the fluids must be taken into consideration. To assist in the selection of the appropriate Fuchs product for your application refer to the water miscible cutting fluids application chart in this brochure. Maintenance of Water Miscible Coolants The longevity and performance of a coolant depends on good housekeeping, correct usage and storage. Water based fluids can often become infected with micro-organisms, and although contamination is unavoidable, good house keeping and a regular maintenance program can help prevent degradation of the fluid, corrosion of parts and machine components, loss of cutting performance and the generation of offensive odours. The information below is a guide to the correct maintenance of the water miscible fluids. Monitor Fluid Concentration As with all water miscible metalworking fluids, concentration control is vital. Too low a concentration can lead to corrosion problems, poor cutting tool life, and provide the opportunity for increased biochemical activity. A concentration too high can result in skin irritation problems and poor tool life. It is therefore critical that the strength of the emulsion is regularly checked. The simplest method by using a hand held refractometer. Keep System Clean. System cleanliness is essential if its full benefits are to be realized. It is always recommended that a system cleaner such as MTC 9114 Machine Tool Cleaner is used prior to filling with clean coolant to ensure maximum service life. It is important to remove swarf, tramp oil, general debris, and to maintain a reasonable level of housekeeping. Tramp oil will promote the growth of bacteria and the use of skimmers will minimize potential problems and result in cleaner machines, work pieces and operator environment. Fuchs offers a complete range of system maintenance products including refractometers, tramp oil skimmers, system cleaners and additives for the control of micro organisms. Where control of micro-organisms is problematic, Fuchs has developed a specialised range of products that are particularly resistant to microbial attack. Control Micro-organisms Most water miscible cutting fluids provide favourable conditions for the growth of many types of bacteria and fungi. These micro-organisms can enter the fluid in many ways via the water supply, general environment, work piece material and the operator. Failing to regularly monitor and treat bacterial and fungal contamination will eventually lead to unscheduled downtime, lost production and increased costs. Biochemical activity (bacterial and fungal growth) is generally measured by using dip slides. Treatment of contaminated systems will vary depending on the type of contamination (whether bacterial or fungal) and its severity.
