One of the keys to having a globally competitive forest sector is the commitment to innovation, whether it s new harvesting techniques, looking to break the barriers on tall wood buildings, or commericalizing new wood products. British Columbia s forest sector leads the way. In the long term, a sustainable forest management strategy aimed at maintaining or increasing forest carbon stocks, while producing an annual sustained yield of timber, fibre, or energy from the forest, will generate the largest sustained mitigation benefit.
